It's old but gold. If it could help you out we've probably chucked it in here.

The Labyrinth 2

Post by Dnlvickers5 » 25 Apr 2011, 22:29

Well, hello forum, I have decided it is time for me to begin to work on the labyrinth 2 (Name may change to something separate later). I don't quite know if I will be doing this or not, but I wanted the opinion of everyone on weather or not people would really do it. Firstly the original labyrinth has not seen action in a while, and I didn't have much of a turnout to begin with. So if you could tell me if a second, enhanced, escape map game, where you try to get out of a maze of puzzles and mobs. It is just that it is a lot of work just to have 5 people do it, so input from others about my idea would be appreciated.

Second order of business, I know that some of the failure with the last attempt was the exactingness of it all so I want to ramp it up, more mobs, more danger, more difficult puzzles, and (maybe) greater earnings. So in the comments the second order of business will be to tell me what you want more of in the game (that is if you want it to go through), if you want more danger from fights I can add more area for mobs. If you like puzzles I can add that in too, or more plot. Currently I am considering building much more game area, more mobs to fight, and ramping up the complexity of my puzzles (at least for the later levels). For what I have in mind, I am going for an almost Amnesia: The Dark Decent feeling to the game. I will add more creative scenery as well to really try and captivate the game. So Also post your expectations for this game.

Now that I have set aside the matter of the game itself I must talk about placement and work. Now to create this new game, I want to have real checkpoints where it is almost like a save, but the game overall will hopefully take hours from what I want it to do. This is my game, so I want to make it extremely lang and arduous, but to build such a monumental game, I need an area to build, that is not far from spawn. So also in the comments could you leave a estimated distance from spawn that you would be willing to travel to reach this area, I don't want to tire you with the walking. I may even build in Fyra if that is what it takes to get a secluded area for this, because I want to do a lot of work on the scenery to really make this a more three dimensional plot. And finally if you would consider working on land clearing for me, or construction. This work may or may not happen, it may be possible that I will rally a few of my friends together for this project, but I may not be willing to pay much for work. This is simply something to consider assisting with in your free time.

Thanks for Reading!

Notes- -I will add polls, and change them as time progresses to check on the want for this construction.
-Unfortunately Mods won't be able to participate in the Labyrinth 2 because of their ability to break things in cuboids (sorry knife, no redemption with this one). Although you are always able to watch from the viewing area.

Well, thanks for the feed back on the post. It appears that I will do it, just working on a place to build now. And Yes, Vallorn, it is very likely to be in Fyra now that I weigh the options. I will probably build at the end of one of the tracks to get easy access to it. Keep it up on the poll, I will probably be changing it soon so see what you guys want out of my big puzzle. And by the way it isn't a real maze (accept for a small section of it), I just call it the labyrinth because it is confusing. More than likely I will make it more non linear. But while I am figuring my options, I will get started as soon as my next tower on my trap completed.
