Spleef World Cup
I was wondering if we could have a Spleef tournament or World Cup every month or so. Any thoughts?

"He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever.
He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.
And... he's wonderful."

Maybe have a different city host the tournament every time?

Great idea! Last time team Saphiri beat team Mods even though team mod cheated! W00T!
It needs to be about, 20% cooler.

If that happens, I shall host the Spleef World Cup at Aerotip the first time.Frosty wrote:Maybe have a different city host the tournament every time?
Re: Spleef World Cup
Also, why not make a spleef board who decides on the official rules, where the tournament will be, official arena specifications, and things of that nature.MCfreak123 wrote:If that happens, I shall host the Spleef World Cup at Aerotip the first time.Frosty wrote:Maybe have a different city host the tournament every time?

Re: Spleef World Cup
I like the idea of a board. I'd be happy to help out on the board, construct/design arenas, and so forth.Frosty wrote:Also, why not make a spleef board who decides on the official rules, where the tournament will be, official arena specifications, and things of that nature.MCfreak123 wrote:If that happens, I shall host the Spleef World Cup at Aerotip the first time.Frosty wrote:Maybe have a different city host the tournament every time?
There should probably be a standard for arena sizes and such, though I just thought of making random ones (such as a glass maze-like arena).
I'd suggest team games as well as FFA, and in teams, perhaps teams can wear team skins? Like so:
Re: Spleef World Cup
The only issue with this is population... not many people log on to form complete teams. And if they are, I don't think they'd be willing to spend time away from mining for this unless Black and Mount torture them until their wills break and have nowhere else to turn.

Re: Spleef World Cup
I would be happy to be the Belgian representative in the spleef board.
Advertising for the cup and designing arenas will be my priority.
Anyway did you know the president of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) is also a Belgian?

Re: Spleef World Cup
Okay, so luke2006 would like to construct/design arenas, Frosty would like to build the board HQ, and Joskeua would like to advertise the tournament. Got it. If you would like to sign up for something on the board, quote this post and say what you would like your job to be. Signing up will be much appreciated.

Sounds good. Problem is I updated, so I'll have to wait till the server update but you'll probably want time to organise stuff anyway.MCfreak123 wrote:Okay, so luke2006 would like to construct/design arenas, and Joskeua would like to advertise the tournament. Re: Spleef World Cup
History of the Spleef Cup:
-Preplanned by kyconney 2 weeks in advance
-Every Settlement was asked to gather 3 or 4 of their best players.
-Settlements began tournies to decide who their team would be
-The saturday of the match, each team gathered in Fort ITL where the cup would be held
-The teams organized in their respective embassies, however most of us were followed by people who joined the game for the first time.
-Fort ITL was packed (when it was still a gleaming gem of a settlement unlike how it is today).
-First round was Team mod vs. Team Saphiri
-Mods won
-Second Round Saphiri vs ITL
-Mods won
-People got upset
-Spleef arena turned into tnt
-people were jumping and it was complete chaos
-Team Corinth bounced
-Someone can fill in the rest, i don't know what happened after we left.

Thank you for your consideration!
Re: Spleef World Cup
Frosty, do you want to build in the same location? With similiar build layout and style and such?
And SWEET I can log in again thanks for fixing the server Wokka.
Where are we planning to build this thing?
