The new mob IDs confer an unfair advantage...
But I use it anyway.
Click that last one so you can better see the morass of mob IDs. Every single one of them was in this cave, and I'm not even done exploring it yet after 128 torches. :O

well that'll take a while to clear, although I'm gonna guess it'll be gone when you log back on.
Someone should try building a closed hostile mob arena around one of these dungeons for endless mobs

i use it sometimes when i can hear em in cave systems (dont wanna get caught out)
but ive never used em to find dungeons. that would be cheating.

Re: The new mob IDs confer an unfair advantage...
Okay, I'll confess. I had a go at using F3 to help me find caverns for some sweet minerals, and I actually found it pretty fun, tracking down the little numbers to find moar mobs to kill. Kinda like that spell in Oblivion. I'd actually quite like to see it implemented into the game somehow, maybe as a craft-able potion that gives you Supervision for two or three minutes.
I didn't find any dungeons when I used it, but in a way I'm glad. Finding a dungeon through exploration rather than using F3 would definitely be more satisfying.

Re: The new mob IDs confer an unfair advantage...
See i was in this cave where the ceilings were SO HIGH(like 50 blocks or so) and water was ALL OVER so i often used f3 to scan for mobs in my area

Wokka said that it could be possible to make a plugin to eliminate such a game breaking advantage.
It hasn't be written on stone yet though. We just hope players don't "exploit" it ;

You cannot say it doesn't exist if you haven't seen it. ~Zinrius

I admit my surprise that no such mod (read: unofficial patch) has been created yet.

Get a better computer that doesnt use up as much memory to run Minecraft and the bar will be smaller.Lefthit wrote:i can only get like 20 seconds of F3'ing before my entire screen turns red from this slow moving graph thing. the red is like blood covering my eyes D: . dhow do you make the graph smaller like in ur pics ?

Or just change the aspect ratio.
"He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever.
He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.
And... he's wonderful."
