PvP Rules and Play

How PvP Works in Escapecraft

Here at Escapecraft we're all about working together, but sometimes you just want to murder your friends. These things happen and we want to offer you all a means to do so. In our PvP world you can finally do so! Just look for the entrance to the PvP world and Hub to begin a new survival experience.

Rules
• The spawn area is protected. Once you leave the border of the spawn area, you are able to be killed.

• Anything is okay in PvP. You are able to maim, murder, and grief anything you see. I don't want to hear any complaints about losing items or buildings being destroyed. You enter the PvP world at your own risk.

• There are twelve prebuilt, protected forts available to you all. These forts are all made from the same base template of 10x10 blocks. These forts cannot be destroyed. You are welcome, and encouraged, to use these forts and expand on them. Your extensions will be vulnerable, but the original fort is invulnerable. It will be ideal to store your valuables in them. These forts can be found in each compass direction every 300 blocks apart.

• You can bring your items and equipment from the main survival server. Be warned though, you have the potential to lose everything you bring, or leave with new wealth.

• You are encouraged to team up and form factions.

• There is a 25 block no-build zone outside of the safe area.

• Locked chests and furnaces are ok, the new rule is, don't try to build a house or wall out of locked items. If you abuse this, you will be warned and/or banned.

• Building anything out of Locked chests is unacceptable. No more than 2 locked chests for 1 player within 50 blocks, and more than 4 players may put locked chests within 50 blocks. In another words, in one fort or structure, you can't have more than a total of 8 locked chests. Building walls or anything out chests will not be allowed either.

• Other than the above rule about chests, no other usage of LWC will be allowed, no locking doors, signs, lifts, etc.

so creating a giant set of magma filled caverns just under the surface around spawn and rigging up the surface to detonate if someone steps on it is okay? because if so im going to have a new project after MagmaVale

This is of course if players don't kill you before you can finish it... or start it.

Yes, if the border around the area gets to the point where no one can cross it safely, due to lava, pits, etc, we'll have to restore the area.

What if this is an ongoing issue ? will the player responsible suffer the repercussions of his behavior ?

I'll note that any mod participating in the PvP world combat wise, will first announce the fact to you and also not have god mode on whilst trying to slash or shoot you.

All the residents of my town, Haven, have agreed to team up. Unfortunately, I'm the only resident.

I'm so screwed.

Haven is open to align with magmavale, though, if vallorn wishes to.

While I haven't tried it myself yet, would there be any way of having some sort of script that catapults you somewhere random in the world? Also, disabling /home and /groupspawn while in the PvP world to make it more interesting.

No, not really a way without yet another plugin. Also, we could disable /groupspawn and /home, what about /spawn? If you disable them all, people could get lost or if they need to leave in a hurry.

You'd have to make a very good case to Sneaky to get this changed, and he's pretty hard to convince :)

While that does raise a valid point, you would consider the very idea of a PvP world is of a harsher environment than a typical survival one. Giving people an easy way to escape within seconds removes any sense of danger.

I have to agree with Mordwyl, removing all spawns would definitely give the world a sense of danger.

Perhaps we could make each of the forts provide a "teleport" back to hub ?

or maybe make the forts a sort of station with lifts to a railway below

this would provide 2 bonuses.

1. a quick transport from the forts to the spawn

2. it would make spawn campers lives that bit difficult and therefore increase the fun had by others

I'm highlighting a rule that people seem to be ignoring, you are not allowed the usage of lwc in pvp, other than the limit of chests... that means no doors or furnaces
