Nether has been wiped, enjoy

The nether is really only there for farming, you shouldn't be building anything permanent on that world.
I'll be wiping it soon, to refresh resources. Even with the new map, do not build there, just farm and get out. Hopefully the multi-world plugin will update soon, so that we can open it for building.

Would it be okay to build small structures for protection against Ghasts?
For instance, cobble houses can't get hurt by ghast fire.

Of course.
You're welcome to build as long as you understand it won't be there for long.

It's funny that you think CUT has nothing to do with the wipe.
Anyways, I hope 1.7 brings us a working nether.

I just hope 1.7 doesn't completly break the game with bugs.... again.
But yes a working Nether would be pretty cool. At least it can be farmed and explored. I mean anyone who does build anything in a working Nether has to be pretty crazy in the first place.

We aren't waiting on Notch for a working nether, but multi-world plugin compatibility to work with his nether setup for SMP.

The nether is wiped and back online. Let me know if you see any problems. The spawn area is protected, and should be from ghasts as well.
Do not build anything permanent over there.
Vall, you can mine however you want over there, but don't waste the glowstone
