I mentioned in the fireside today that I'm open to people helping us design some new portals for a few worlds that need them.

If you have designs, post the coords to them here with a screenshot.

1st one possibly for interra is at x -45 y 3 z -52
the sky world one is at x -35 y 3 z -66
And a forest one next to them

Would you mind noting here what worlds need them? I understand Sky Land, possibly the new player world as well. Could serve as inspiration.

ive busted out a few in creative. once the server is back up il post coords.

by the way the Eye Portal can either have a suspended platform leading into it or be set into the ground as can the Spiral Corridor portal. :)

also i love my EvilSteve portal :D

Ver3, perhaps a 2nd one for Fyra, Sky, and possibly more, who knows.

Always Into, the outgoing portals are derpy, so I try to go for flat areas.

These can be found in Creative at x=-920 z=-45 (north end of rails) within my landclaim there.

Update 7/11:

Cove:
- Added a netherportal-like arch of logs. Wouldn't accept portal blocks (/i 90) though, as they instantly despawned again.
Hallway:
- Made the actual portal clearer.
Sky Portal:
- Changed landing from wood to cobble, changed ground beneath to gravel, added wooden handrail/fix point for the balloon car.
Comments about my submissions:

- I am not entirely content with the cove, I still make a few changes around the canopies - they look kinda off.
- The hallway is pretty long as it was meant to include some redstone wiring leading to dispensers above the water walls, throwing glowstone when someone stepped on a pressure plate. Unfortunately, transmission to the stone roof proved to take about 3 seconds, so I scratched that. Plus, I couldn't get the glowstone to graciously float like leaf gold.
- As I saw vallorn do his Skyland thing I had to chime in. Started out with a blue balloon, then decided for something different. Then realized that wokka has Prime as his skin. Meh. Think what you want of me, there is no deeper meaning.

I like Makkaal's Sky World one, and Vall's Vortex Corridor. :D

Has anyone seen Etho's Tornado? That may be kind of a cool portal, but instead of having a stop at the end it'd just go into the portal.. and it'd have to be one-way. But still, I'll find the video.

Thank you, I'm not entirely content with it, though.
I enjoy the tornado. Mix that with some wicked colors (like in vall's vortex) and it would be one hell of a ride.

I've begun a rebuild of it in Creative, only the first little bit though - recreating the whole thing would be labor-intensive and pointless. :P I've got the walls as sandstone at the moment, but I think I'll try a pattern once I've got it built.

I looked at some of the screenshots. Everything looks wonderful. But... some of them didn't seem functional - in the sense of being intuitive for someone (esp a new person overwhelmed by the grandeur of our hub and worlds) to figure out where to go through.

Yep, here I go with that functionality is a higher priority than beauty thing again... (Although beauty is extremely important.)

That's a good point. I'll overhaul my designs. In the case with my Skyland submission, I believe a simple addition of a sign would suffice.

I don't remember how big the current Enigma portal is, but if it's an odd number then we can expand it to five by five and put in the Tornado. :D That way we can put in the crazy colors and it'll look good.

If it's an even number.. well, that's why I use odd numbers. :P

Aro thats right outisde my BoxoDoom... can we try and keep portals away from it because the redstone stuff outside it is getting removed when its done and i dont want to accidentally your entire portal :)
