Underwater Glass Dome City

Hello,
I just got on escapecraft yesterday and it's awesome. I think a great way to start would be to take on a large project.
I am proposing to build a large underwater glass dome (or several of them linked together) and build a city in them. But it would be great to do it with other players. I have not yet started as I think it will be a good group project.
If you want to help, just reply.

Hmm darn, that's too bad. Are there any other ideas of things unbuilt in terms of cities? I'm open to suggestions.

Well, It's since been abandoned and deleted, but I had a project going for a while that was basically building a huge, natural-looking surface environment, only transferred underground, with skylights for lighting. You might try that, if you're willing to put in the time.

Give built a district in Corinth with a town hall and roads made of only glass and water. The concept's sort of been done already.

But I don't think anyone's built a city out of diamond, gold or iron blocks...

glass and water? BUILD IT OUT OF GLASS AND LAVA!

I made an underwater town, with smoothstone walls and glass ceiling, now building a second storey of glass, as a kind of observation deck. I'd finished and named it Deephaven, only to find it had already been done and the name wasn't that original either. *cries*
but I'm still quite proud of it, now making the DS deephaven, a submarine.

Well I can't really use water or lava cause I joined 2 days ago and am not a vet. My original idea was to have an elegant city within a huge dome underwater. Not the city built directly in the water. I want something that people can see and come to check out. Underground things won't be seen unless people know their there and come to see them.

i dont think we have a sealed Rapture style city yet... we have ones in Domes but not proper underwater scrapers with tubes between em. :)

I like the rapture idea. When you think about it, rapture is the perfect city. It's only flaw was humanity. It was made by the greatest minds in the world for the greatest minds in the world and avoids most, if not all wars. Just dont let anyone harvest any glowing slugs

There's one called Rapture and it's made of different sections connected by glass tunnels if that counts. Sorry to disapoint but my friend's already built that...

I don't think we have something like the Biosphere terrain generator yet. (Floating domes - Above land is glass, under is stone)

Hmm I still want to kinda stick with my original idea though. I'm thinking of it in epic proportions. How big is the other undersea dome?

Vallorn, one major problem with that one is that there is no city in it XD. Mine will have a city/town and plots of land for people to build on as if it was above ground.

Where will this be (sorry if already posted/asked) as my underwater town of Deephaven is moving to North Fyra, and I'm willing to make it a part of one big thing (heh heh). It is mostly 'corridor based', without much in the way of domes, but I have a large area of seabed in which I'm going to move it. If you have a place nearby where it can go, I'll change its destination.

Indeed I do, I have a giant ocean with easy access, too, I built a glass tunnel to it from the mainland next to fyra's west rails so it's easy to get to. The only buildings on that ocean are all mine. The glass tunnel entrance is at -2125, 2884.

What do you mean upload it? It's in west fyra at -2125, 2884.

do a printscreen of escapecraft.net/maps/fyra, as I don't want to be searching for coordinates when I might not be a ble to use it/like it anyway. I find it far simpler to attach a map.

mine is quite sprawled, with quite a few plot spaces, and I think I have a destination not too far from you, we could link them by rail or something.
here's a pic of mine.

A rail would be perfect! I already have a glass underwater rail tunnel going from my house to fyra west rail. I'm planning on hooking it up with Tulonsae's Beorn subway so linking it to yours would be perfect!

that would be great for getting to my town too, if you didn't mind me using it.
Also, are you in the Coeinth Federation, as they will help you link to Beorn/Tulonville etc.

I've made it with 2 lanes so that people won't collide and I have a nice way to make a switching station for intersections.
