Ron Paul.

Ron Paul is one of the GOP presidential candidates. albeit a fringe candidate. he constantly decries Big government, Crony Capitalism and Keynesian Economics, preferring instead a return to pure free market principles as espoused by F.A.Hayek.

in terms of social policy he seems far closer to my British conservative instincts than anyone else on the Presidential field.

personally my private politico-economic preferences perfectly chime with this mans theories and if i was in the USA right now i would give him my vote and not bat an eyelash.

have a couple of videos about this:

does anyone else have any opinions on this maverick?

Were it not for his naively utopian foreign policy, I would enthusiastically support him.

He served in the military. He's not naïve.

As did I, and arguably closer to the cutting edge. My big issue is that he would pull back too fast, leaving a vacuum. It needs to be made clear to those you would pose a danger to us or our interests that not playing nicely will result in the use of overwhelming force. This is why I will never attain any sort of political office.
