American University
American University
well since the UK University system is steadily dropping down international tables I've decided to look at doing my degree in the USA. (Calafornia to be precise for personal reasons).
im already trying to learn the SAT test so i can properly apply but i find it really confusing. can someone explain how it works?

Re: American University
The term sophomoric exists for a reason.
Also, the undergraduate system is very different. An American post-graduate has a far more intensive experience than a British one, whilst for undergraduates it's the opposite.

I would not mind meeting Vall in person. The good thing is that Lava buckets are hard to find in real life XDAenir_bEPU wrote:Are you sure you want to meet up with him? Vallorn wants to keep a thread on topic? Whaaaaa?
OT: SAT is generally easy, for me at least. Just try to treat it like a normal test, and don't stress out. Stressing out will just make you do worse, in my experience at least.
Also, if you are going to start at a community college then transfer, make sure you pick the courses required for whatever type of university you want to transfer to (i.e.: UC or CSU).

Also, keep in mind that there are two standardized tests used to get into US schools. You may very well find it easier to score higher on the ACT than the SAT. I know I did, at least.
Here's a quick reference.

This sounds like a good idea, and while you do all of that you can also get some in person info about collage as well =3vallorn wrote:ive been thinking. maybe i should spend a year over there getting stuff like a drivers license and paperwork sorted before jumping into College properly. i can get a part time job and do some classes at a local feeder college too.

Unless you come from an absurdly wealthy family, moving to California is not cheap by any means. Depending on where you go, Cali also has some of largest living costs in the US.
Also, it's on the West Coast. Ew.

Yeah, stuff over here is expensive. Also, why don't you like the West coast Sneaky? Weather is nice, and there are practically no natural disasters.

Aside from California being on a massive fault line, right?Sti_Jo_Lew wrote:Yeah, stuff over here is expensive. Also, why don't you like the West coast Sneaky? Weather is nice, and there are practically no natural disasters.
Re: American University
Move to Cali if you don't mind the possibility of half your state being an island next time there's an earthquake. ._.

Re: American University
There hasn't been a big earthquake in my entire life. No skyscapers collapsing or anything remotley close to that. Other states have it worse, with hurricanes and tornadoes being a common occurance. I'll gladly take one large earthquake a decade over disasters that happen every year. I seriously do think people exgagerate how bad being on a fault line is.
If you don't want any natural disasters, Arizona. Only have monsoons to worry about.

Re: American University
Yeah, fires are a much larger threat than earthquakes over here. Ca government should buy a few C-17s and make the cargo bay watertight, and use those to put fires out.
