We're 40k off gas giants and enhanced orbital units They're gonna need to think of more stretch goals because we're smoking through them. with 10 days to go, we might hit 2 mil.

I noticed another person pulled out of the $15 early bird special. Seems to be going on and off with this, hopefully when I come back with money someone else pulls it out

Update number 7: New Reward Tiers and T-shirt designs
Uber entertainment wrote:Hello Kickstarters!
Thank you again for all the continued support! We're really excited at the positive response to our current stretch goals. Before revealing our next stretch goal we want to act on a few of the suggestions the community has had.
First off, we are introducing two new tiers. At $90 we’ve created the Digital Tier that gives you everything from the $100 tier that is available in digital form. You get an alpha game access key, an alpha commander, the digital art book, and all of the previous rewards including the progenitor commander. Many of you have been asking for this tier as you don’t want to deal with physical items, but you still want alpha keys and commanders.
The second new tier is the $150 Planetary Tier. Anyone who backs at the $150 level and above will have their name immortalized in the planet naming system. Whenever a star system or planet is generated we automatically come up with names for the individual planets. Those names will be pulled from a list of the $150 and above tier supporters. When we send out the survey at the end of the Kickstarter we will be asking for the name you would prefer to use here. It can be a nickname or a real name as long as it’s not vulgar.
Everyone has been asking for t-shirt designs and we’re excited to finally reveal them. At the $100 tier you get a single t-shirt. You can add on as many as you want of the additional shirts by adding $30 to your pledge for each additional shirt. At the end of the Kickstarter you will receive a survey that allows you to specify types and sizes.

Re: Planetary Annihilation
What I never understood is how Uber plans to implement all these names. I mean, there's probably more names in the donation lists then individual planets Uber plans to make. Same situation with the unit names for 5K donations (I think it is), unless there is a random planet generator or some such, I don't see how all these names for units and planets are going to fit in the game.

Re: Planetary Annihilation
For planets it'll be part of the random name generator. For units however... I dunno. Theres only 7 units gonna be named and, taking from there previous games, I'm gonna assume theres at least 3 unit types for each plain (Land air sea) and then again, the rockets could be classed as a unit sort of and even the asteroids you can throw at people since you can control them

We're over 1.3million, and they just announced the next stretch goal after Lava and Metal planets:

The Galactic War ($1.8mil)
WHY AREN'T YOU THROWING MONEY AT THIS GAME!?

Re: Planetary Annihilation
:\ It seems with that stretch goal, they're just taking expected gameplay elements from the original game and "confirming" them with stretch goals. I mean, where did it say anywhere on the kickstarter game that battles would be limited to one planet? It goes against everything this game seems to be about.Aenir_bEPU wrote:We're over 1.3million, and they just announced the next stretch goal after Lava and Metal planets:

Plus, they added an extra $100k onto the donation goal from the regular pattern (As in, stretch goals are $200k apart each), and only six days left... I highly doubt it'll get that far.
But hey, miracles can happen, you never know.

Also remember that they did say the paypal donations don't show up on the kickstarter page but they will be counted towards the stretch goals in the endJon Mavor wrote:If you want any of the particular rewards in the kickstarter I would try to contribute before it ends.

Before it was just solar systems. Galactic War is, as the name implies, entire galaxies.
Also:
And the reason it is an additional $100k is because it is such a massive feature compared to everything we've seen previously. This is really astronomical compared to "gas giants and enhanced orbital units".Clan wars servers for fighting the galactic war between clans

Re: Planetary Annihilation
Unless if we're going to see battles stretching across galaxies all happening at once, I really don't see what is so special about this stretch goal.
On an off topic note, a really cool addition for a fifth stretch goal imo would be the ability to throw planets into black holes. That would be wickedly cool =D

The Emperor's New Clothes is a slightly different story, about a naked dude.
"He's like fire, and ice, and rage.
He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever.
He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.
And... he's wonderful."

Re: Planetary Annihilation
Well what else could they add that might be gained from the final days of kickstarter XD Some people have suggested advanced modding tools that will allow people to basically build the game up from the bottom. In other words, you could get mods that let you be a commander in first person view. Actually, that sounds quite cool...

I thought the game fully supported modding though? Please don't tell me they are going to shove that into a stretch goal too...

I would've been alot more enthusiastic about possibly buying this game/donating if they at least implemented a proper fifth stretch goal that added gameplay elements and not more music and a documentary. I mean, this was just a major let down of my hopes that something truly appealing would come out of a fifth stretch goal. :\

Re: Planetary Annihilation
I actually like the idea of a documentary for it but that might just be the sad person I am. And a full orchestral soundtrack will make almost everything sound more awesomeLast update wrote:Hello Kickstarters!
It has been an amazing ride over the last month! We’ve heard you loud and clear and added many interesting elements to the game design with your help. Today it is time for us to announce the final stretch goals - goals that we think will make this game an unforgettable classic.
Full Orchestral Score - $2.0M
The absolute best way to make a game soundtrack come alive and stand the test of time is to record it using live musicians. We will record the soundtrack for the game using the Northwest Sinfonia, the same orchestra that performed the soundtracks for Total Annihilation, Halo, and many Hollywood film scores.
Orchestral recording is expensive and difficult to produce, but the layers of texture and overall quality of a live performance cannot be beat. We want to deliver the absolute highest quality game experience that we can and a world class orchestral score is truly something Uber.
Also, Howard says he will add +Sing to the game if we can reach this goal!
A Planetary Documentary - $2.1M
And finally we would love to create a documentary about the creation of the game. See inside the studio and get your deepest game development questions answered. This comprehensive documentary will reveal our production process from concept to completion, including design and technical meetings, art conceptualization, music production, as well as community interaction.
The story of Planetary Annihilation needs to be told. Very few games have had their story told from beginning to end and we have a unique opportunity to do that here.
Again, thanks to everyone for your support! We are looking forward to delivering an awesome experience.
