Hey everyone, I've been recently getting a bit bored of minecraft and when looking on steam for a game I saw Team Fortress 2 for $10 US. So having heard about the game many places but never really getting a full review on it, I was wondering if anyone on here would reccomend getting it.

Yes, yes Team Fortress 2 is definately worth your time/10 bucks!
It's easily the most balanced, varied, visually distinct, and all around unique shooter I've ever played, and unusally for the genre it can be genuinely funny. The only complaint I've ever had for it was the limited number of maps at launch, but Valve has more than compensated on that front, what started as 6 official maps is now 35 plus a very active and innovative modding community generating their own.
It's a light hearted, accessable shooter with enough variety to suit anyone's tastes, but it also has the depth and compexity to stay engaging for the long haul. I cannot recommend it enough.

Does it have sort of specific servers sort of, like you can join a server and just play with people on that server?
If so is there an escapecraft server?
If not to number 2, why not?

You select from a list of official and community hosted servers, there are a myriad to choose from so there's never an issue of not being able to find a game. If you want to play exclusively on a specific server there are options to favorite/blacklist servers you've played, as well as filters to find specific gametypes you might be interested in (or just to find the ones with the lowest ping).
I'm not aware of an escapecraft server (although it's possible one exists and they're all hiding it from me). Since so many people here came from the escapist I imagine a lot of them play on their server.

Thank you so much for the review Jake, I will definetely be playing this game now, and just clarifying, I read it was a multiplayer game only, so no story-line?

It is multiplayer only. The closest things to a story are the occational comic strips and videos Valve releases with major updates:
