Ping issues

Post by Sti_Jo_Lew » 21 Aug 2011, 05:59

I've been having horrible ping issues on TF2 for the last week or so. I usually run with about 40-50 ping, occasionally I get as low as 20, but lately it's been a lo different.

Every 10 minutes (yes, I can pretty much time them) my ping steadily rises. Within 30 seconds, it's up to 500, then reaches 900. After a minute or two of it being at 900, it steadily drops to the usual 40-50 ping I get. I have absolutly no clue why this happens, and REALLY want to fix it so I can play TF2 without raging when I can't move due to such bad lag.

As far as I can tell, it only occurs on TF2, and it happens on every server, no matter what country it's hosted from, US or other.

Anyone have ANY idea wtf is going on?

Best I can say? Re-install TF2.

I already solved the issue. Turns out that every time the guide for my TV would shift over a half hour, it interfered with the internet connection. AT&T already came out, and no more issues.

Mods can lock this now.

Bah, AT&T. We've already had problems they had to fix. Apparently the last residents of our house had comcast internet, so the phone lines were cut. Turns out DSL doesn't work without a phone line! -iaminnowaysurprisedasIamtheonewhosetsupallofmyfamily'selectronicsinfactyoumightcallmetheirITguy-

Lol, kind of the same thing here. My dad was trying to tell me the issue was my computer, even though the exact same thing happened on the PS3 at the exact same time as on the PC. Oh well. Also, I hate AT&T and wan to switch, but I'm not the one paying the bill.
