If you dig straight down.. you'll find...

... you know what, you should never dig straight down. You should never make a small, doorless stone hut in the middle of nowhere with a hole on the inside that goes straight down to bedrock, so that an unsuspecting Derigin fleeing from mobs would run into the hut and fall straight down to his death. Twice.

Lol! I had a place that I died in like that once. I removed it, filled it with a bit of dirt, and put my dwarven fortress in the nearby mountain.

I HATE those holes.
They appear ANYWHERE, and they go almost to bedrock! The first one I saw was in one of the test servers... the sandstone and dispenser update.
