Hi Guys/Gals!
This is a thread for Christmas and all through the giving season. Post what you're doing to help people/kids in need!
At my school, we're having a competition for toys for tots. The teachers make gingerbread houses, and then we donate money ( which is a vote ) and whichever gingerbread house gets the most wins! But all the money donated will go to toys for tots. 8th grade and 7th grade made 2 gingerbread houses. 6th grade made one, because we do everything together. I'm donating $25 of my own money to this.
Throughout the whole year, I go to this website called http://www.freerice.com where when you get a problem right, you get 10 grains of rice and they send them to people who don't have food.
I also buy things for a family in need every year. Just bought stuff for them yesterday.
So the point of this thread is to say what you do for people in need! Have fun!

Re: Doing things for kids in need.
Well, I'm helping at the local Cubs pack for my Duke of Edinburgh award, but I'm helping to organise the Christmas float where "Father Christmas' sleigh" drives around the village and the Cubs do carol singing for donations to help keep the pack going, which I think is worthwhile as some of them lead pretty bad lives so Cubs is one of their High points.

I'm donating baby items for some drive that's being run by the National Junior Honors Society. Diapers!
