The Movie/TV Soundtrack Thread

Post by Skunk_Giant » 27 Apr 2011, 05:58

So, I decided I'd just copy the video game thread and make a movie/tv one. So, rules are simple. You give the previous poster's choice a rating out of ten and then post a song you like from a movie or tv show.

Here's my one, not my favourite, but reminds me of the great show and great actor!

The Full Version

Shorter Version (What's used in the show)

I am very shallow when it comes to music. I don't understand or appreciate nuances, nor the flow of a good "album" - I usually like "hit" or "popular" songs, with simple, catchy sounds and lyrics. So, that song... I didn't like, and only give an average 5/10.

So, the song I post is just one of those songs I like, that happened to have been written by my favorite band, specificly for a show I've never watched;

Only seen the show a few times, but I do like the song a bit. It's not really my style of music though, so the rating I give it will probably be less than what most would. 7/10

This next song is definitely not my type of music, but I really like it. Also a great movie, I recommend it if you haven't seen it already.

Uh... 7/10. I've gotten into electronica stuff lately. Gets a bit dull after a while though.
Never seen the movie.

This is the full version of the Misfits opening theme:

Echoes - The Rapture.

He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun.
He's ancient and forever.
He burns at the centre of time and he can see the turn of the universe.
And... he's wonderful."

Both were good, but I enjoyed the Back to the Future one way more.
8/10 and 6/10 respectively. :)

As for mine, "Wild Tigers I Have Known" by Emily Jane White, from the movie of the same name.

8/10 :D

This song is one I enjoy, so I'm just using the appearance of it on Scrubs to put it here. :D

It's kind of soft at times, since it's behind the voice of others.

9/10. I always liked that song, and that was one of the more memorable Scrubs moments (at least to me). :)

A classic, and one of my favourite songs (from a great band) - from the Armageddon soundtrack.

8/10, A personal favourite when drunk. Of course, I can't remember the lyrics EVER (Intoxicated or not) so I usually mess the song up real bad.

Also, this thread really shows how well Scrubs can use music, especially during the more "dramatic" moments.

Oh you know I'm gonna post ponies. Don't act surprised.

Oh my, very good song, though I do prefer a different cover.

EDIT: The John Cale version on piano. I have strong feelings with that song.

7/'10

I always like this song, from a rather good movie.

9/10 I despise you so much right now, Adder. I'll be humming that song for ages to come.

9/10. Great scene, and the song sets it off brilliantly. :D

This is from the Empire Records soundtrack. It's a great movie that I definitely recommend watching (especially if you like 80's/early 90's music). :) Plus it's got Liv Tyler. Are you watching it yet?

And, as it appears in the movie, complete with Renée Zelweger singing: :D

6/10. Just didn't really like the style of singing.

Bumping 'cos Skunk killed his own thread. :P

This is my favourite song from Repo! The Genetic Opera, starring Anthony Head and Paris Hilton.

Heads up, it's possibly probably NSFW.
