And why was the episode I watched mind numbingly boring?

a classic british comedy/horror/drama/action/scifi series about a time traveling alien called "The Doctor" and his companions.

it was rebooted a few years back (one of the only good reboots recently) and the first episode of the new series aired in the UK last Saturday.

I dunno exactly, I turned on the TV and said, "Hey, Dr. Who!". There were people with Alien....things...coming out of their mouths. I quickly lost track of what was going on, it pretty much went downhill from there.

I've only seen a couple of episodes, but they were great. It seems to be one of those shows where you can just start watching at any point in the series and still enjoy it.

The Weeping Angels one was particularly good. :D
Also, there was one about cat-nurses or something, who were keeping human specimens for disease testing.

Also, I'm quickly growing tired of the pony thing.

Without doubt one of the best active TV-serials out there.

I'm trying to think of an American show that's got the same reaction.

Basically, Doctor Who is a show that, if you're British, you must love, otherwise you are somehow wrong. Normally science fiction gets varying responses, but Doctor Who is, or unofficially must be, liked by everyone here, including the Queen.

sort of my reaction but i decided to roll with it and add some context anyway. seriously though even if you are an american (oh by the way we had The Office, Xfacto and PopIdol first not america) that is no excuse for not knowing anything about Dr Who.

and Bum try watching some of the newer series. i agree the older ones havent aged well but the new ones are brilliant. if you want a little darker try TorchWood and lighter The Sarah Jane Adventures (Ones on BBC3 and others on CBBC).

also Matt Smith is sexy... that is all. :D

I don't know if that's something to brag about.

especialy as she appears in a few of the episodes/holiday specials (Titanic Christmas is the one i can think of right now)

and in the second series didnt they imply that the royal family are werewolves? i wish they had done something with that... :(

EDIT TO PREVENT MULTIPLE MOD ANGRIFYING POSTS:
agreed Lord but my rightious anger about Americans thinking they had our ideas first has no boundaries of taste!
