Ratko Mladic is one of the Bosnian war criminals of the 1990s - he was the Chief of Staff of the Bosnian Serb army, and had top military command during the Srebrenica Massacre - he's been on the run ever since the Bosnian War.

This despicable individual was responsible for the slaughter of 8,000 civilians in Srebrenica. He reportedly had the audacity to hand out lollies to children and assure them that they would be fine, hours before they were killed.

I am relieved that he has finally been apprehended and that he shall soon meet his fate at the Hague Tribunal. I also hope that this will serve as an example to others in the world like him ( eg. Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, Libyan Col. Muammar Gaddafi); they can run, but eventually, justice will catch up to them.
