Need an Excuse.

I had finally earned enough money these past two years to start attending school again. I had an exam this morning, in a class that I have been doing very well in. Unfortunately, instead of waking up at 5:00AM to the sound of onlinealarmclock.com, I woke up at 9:50AM to a "Webpage not Available". I need an excuse, a good one. One that I can prove.

How about the truth and a brand new standalone alarm clock?

Power Outage, reset all the clocks.

Family Emergency,

24hr Bug, (get a Dr Certificate)

Or say what did happen.

First off, massive kudos on the profile pic.

And in reference to your excuse, I would also recommend family emergency. If need be, make a fake e-mail account purporting to be from another family member confirming your absence. Word it differently to how you usually would and make it hugely apologetic.
No self-respecting educational establishment will give you any leeway for an alarm not going off, or any related argument alluding to this, it's an overused excuse and the argument is that you should have taken responsibility to ensure it would work.

I'm a bit too good at this :/

Doctor certificate.
Legally they have to allow you to do a resit/reschedule if you provide one. (Well in Aus anyway)

Yeah you shouldn't rely on something like an online alarm clock.

I usually set several alarms on my phone at 5-minute intervals and sleep with it on my bedpost.

This sounds good... making a lie will just make things worse... even more so if its not believed.
Might as well just come clean and say you goofed with the alarm not working.

If you do what dark says, then they should give you another chance. Then get a real alarm. Or put your phone on a vibrate alarm and put it on a piece of metal.

Lol I actually did something like that once. Except I put it on an book-ramp over my head so it would fall on me. XD

Honesty will probably be the best way to go here.

The day we did the MLP marathon, I set the alarm on my iPoD for an hour before it started (I am a zombie just after waking up) and that worked. It will never let you down.

Lol. I used to not be able to wake up to just sound, since I lived near a highway. Couldn't figure out a way to make the alarm rigger the lights to turn on, so I just hit myself with my phone.

How i get up.

Put phone next to bed with alarm set for time to get up and winning on the phone.

Put old unused phone next to bed with alarm set for 5 mins later and with lords grammar rant. (I've waken up more than once with "WHAT THE F--- IS WRONG WITH YOU")

Set alarm for 2 mins after that.

That should work for you too.

i have a battery alarm clock next to my bed with an oscilating beep (it changes frequency every 5 mins so i cant get used to it and ignore it). then i also have a radio alarm clock at the foot of my bed.

and i can STILL sleep through it sometimes :?

Vallorn thats simple for you. Buy 4 semi-angry monkeys and put them in cages with timed locks on them. Set the time for 15 mins after the clock and bam you have a reason to get up quickly!

I just get my phone and set five alarms all within five minutes of each other. That usually works.

Sounds like a good way to start the day.

There was this alarm clock that my uncle used to have which had a four piece jigsaw puzzle on it. When the alarm went off the pieces would fly off the alarm clock and the only way to stop the alarm was to find the pieces and put them back together.

Problem with those alarm clocks: what happens if you lose a piece? Or you simply can not find it anywhere, or its in some impossible-to-reach place?

You find a hammer.

I anticipated such a response, and have concocted a retort: thus defeating the purpose of the alarm clock.

I wouldn't say that. It would still wake you up.

Yes but after that first time it'd be...broken.
