Weird day at school.

Post by XxGhOsTxReCoNxX » 07 Nov 2011, 22:39

So, at the end of the day at school, we had a lockdown! :o

And we had to stay after school for an hour and a half. Our teachers said it was the buses, but when a teacher said we could get our phones to call home for a ride, I went to my locker and saw the buses. /facepalm. Then, I called home with my phone and my Mom picked me up 20 minutes later. And 3 schools also had lockdowns and they got to go home, too.

Appearently it was that a guy who lives close to our school, almost killed his wife. He had threatened to kill her, and almost shot her. Then, he barricaded his house and tied the wife up in a chair in the basement. He almost shot her, but he shot around her. then the Swat came, and a big tank like vehicle. And there were snipers walking the streets and everyone around the house had to go inside. They were there for an hour or more.

( The guy was actually holding the wife hostage for 5 hours in the afternoon. )

In the end, they got one of the guys friends to call the guy and tell him to come out of the house, which he did. He is now in jail and I think the wife should leave and file a divorce against him. And it was in the newspaper and it might be in the news. It was a weird day at school.

Are you sure? Sounds like it was all a misunderstanding.

Your story is interesting, ive been through worse though.
Year 8, bomb scare.
So not even 15 minutes into the start of school the emergency bell goes, everyone gets herded out onto the grass area, the whole school sits there for 3 hours while firefighters and a bomb squad look for and defuse the bomb. We have news helicopters flying above and police escorts to the toilets. Every student had to call their parents to be allowed to leave.
Turns out 'the bomb' was just several smoke bombs the year 12's had planted after muck-up day :3

When I was younger, someone brought a gun to school (before I went there) to trade it for a Playstation. During the sixth period of the day, the student with the gun met with the one he was going to trade with, and the security officer saw the trade happen. She called SWAT and the school was on lockdown into the evening. They didn't let anybody leave until all the lockers and classrooms were searched, and there were armed SWATs posted in each of the hallways.

Before that, I'd say I was in kindergarten, the gas station down the street from my school was blown up and we were put into lockdown for the whole day. Good times.

This wouldn't happen to be the guy in Carson that was in the news today, would it?

This whole concept of schools in lockdown came after my time, thankfully.

In year 7 and i think year 8 the fire alarm was set of regularly by people leaning on it or just pressing it. Oh and in year 6 (5 years ago) Pete postlethwaite came to our school

Just last year my school was in a tornado warning (which is odd, as usually tornadoes happen in the evening). Everyone in my classroom had to take shelter in the girls' restroom for nearly 3 hours. The warning went right over lunch, so near the end of it I just called my mom and she checked me out so I could leave and get fed. Anybody whose parents were unavailable had to wait until 2:30 before being let out.

Also last year, people lit trash cans on fire three times in the same day. The majority of that day was spent outside in the cold and wind, waiting for the fire crews to give the all-clear. The school offered a reward for information, and eventually the perpetrators were caught and arrested.

Good times.

The biggest problem in a school I've ever been in was an assault by one kid against another using safety scissors. That was during Grade 6. The two kids aren't even allowed to have gym at the same time anymore.

In Elementary school, there was a lock down because somebody from the high school shot himself in the head.

What the hell is wrong with you people? The worst that ever happened at my establishment of learning was when old Phipps got stuck in a canoe and drifted off to sea. We all had to go rescue the blighter before dusk or he would've missed the polo game.

Oh, the laughs we had!

I think we had some smoke once. That's about it. It was actually quite nice; we missed most of first block.

some moron at my boarding school decided it would be fun to set off the smoke detectors with aerosol deodorant at 2AM 4 nights in a row...

he was shunned for the rest of the year.

Also im going to add to my story that this was in a school in Australia. We dont have lunatics who are able to purchase guns freely and use them to constantly shake up the public. School lock downs (or anything lock downs) are very rare in Aus, not to mention we are quite liberal with what counts as a lock down. There were 2 scenarios in year 7 that involved sharp things. A girl snuck into the food-tech room and stole a knife, then locked herself in the girls toilets threatening to stab herself. The other time someone stabbed some else 'accidentally' with scissors. Both those times the school were not put in lock down.

Damn, the only interesting things that happened in my school was when gypsies turned up on the playing fields, some guys were caught in the showers (will not go into the details. Apparently it was full of ick), the changing rooms burnt down (not related incidents, honest) and once when one of the guys in my year was sleeping with one of the geography teachers (daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn). Everyone knew about except for the headteacher apparently, so nothing happened about it. No attempted murders though, my school sucked.

Our school actually got really good results too... Obviously the averages were bumped up by my sterling awesomeness, but still. It wasn't a bad school, it's just that the westcountry is full of inbred freaks lots of people that went to it were a bit nutty.
