YAY! It's Dr Watson the Hobbit, and Smaug Holmes.

(if you don't live in Britain, you won't get it. If you do, you probably won't either...)

If you didn't get it then...
Spoiler! :
Benedict Bumberbatch (Smaug) plays Sherlock Holmes in BBCs 'Sherlock', Martin Freeman (Bilbo) plays Dr John Watson.

I can't see how people can find the Silmarillion heavy to read...
And as most of the other books from J.R.R. Tolkien have been edited by his son, and he therefor have the copyrights on them, and he refuses to give them away, he hates that they are making movies from his dads books.

The Silmarillion is great in that you don't really have to read the chapters in order if you don't want to. Some of them are a bit on the dull side, while others are fantastic. Of Beren and Luthien, for example, is probably my favourite piece I've read by Tolkien.

The Music of the Ainur (the opening) is great too in my opinion. And if you like Narn i Hín Hurin (I think it's under that title in the book), you'll be glad to know The Tale of the Children of Húrin was brought out in extended form as its own book a while back. It's a really good read, if a bit on the sad side.

i love lotr and all his other books set in that world because even though its fantasy and magical it is so realistic in how things would be done, its all well thought out and planned unlike some other fantasy books, *cough cough *harry potter
