On the topic of Pixar, Pixar actually makes all the decisions regarding what they make, and the storylines. Or at least they did. Don't know if that has changed in the last couple of years.

Star Wars Galaxies and all those other similar MMORPGs that Lucasfilms had funded are more then likely going to just end up like another Club Penguin, now. :\

SMW is (as always) correct. Lucas wrote the scripts for films VII-XII back in the 70s, so at least Disney has good material to work with. Sure, there's still a chance they could royally fuck it up, but it'll always be better than Episodes II and III, and that stupid TV show.

Actually, Disney bought the rights to Avangers half way through production, they hardly laid a finger on it while it was being made. So yes, prepare for the most milked franchise in the world, to be Disney'd on.

Secondly, last I checked Disney's movies were usually pretty solid. Unless they had something to do with the Disney Channel.

Thirdly, while I will agree that more Star Wars movies are completely unnecessary, I can't imagine they'll be any worse.

People seem to forget that Disney also owns Marvel and the Avengers.

They also own Indiana Jones... well that's probably not the best example.

Disney has been selling Star Wars merchandise for years (not to mention the Star Wars ride and Star Wars weekends at the parks) so this isn't that shocking....

Honestly, I'm just glad it's out of Lucas' hands.

Disney will probably end up bringing in some halfway decent directors to do the new films too, I'm actually kinda curious to see how they'll turn out. There's a chance they could be fairly good...

Yes that was pretentious. But you all have to admit disney isnt known for their great sequels. Most of the movies they make are in essence the same. Different names, times and location but the rest? Pixar movies have changed quite a bit since they started working for disney. The Marvel direct to dvd animations have stopped since disney bought it (To much blood and violence and they also changed Thor from being god of thunder to prince of thunder and made him a demigod in avengers)
Disney has quite an effect on the companys they buy.
Lucas tried to get a bigger audience with part 1,2,3 and failed pretty badly with it.
The impact disney is going have on it is going to be even bigger because they are targeting an even bigger audience. As they do with all their movies.
It wouldnt be as bad if disney just made "a" star wars movie. The fact that they are going to make 7,8 and 9 is whats bothering me the most. Millions of fans have been waiting 20 years or more for these films. To see them being ruined by a company who doesnt give a shit about the fans but only the money is pretty fucked up.
