Re: The Prophecy of Escapecraft
STOREH TIEM
Six Months Ago...
Milo awoke, horrified.
Cautiously, he peered around the dark room. Paintings hung everywhere, one of the sun, one of the galaxy, one of a simple star.
A man stepped into the room holding a sword of diamond.
"Oh, look who woke up! Mr Windby, we were worried that bump on the head had done some major damage."
"Who are you?" Milo demanded, lunging to punch the mysterious man. He found his arm fly back, and realised it was chained to a dirty stone wall. "What do you want?"
The man chuckled to himself.
"You don't know me. I think you know my boss though. You know him quite well... As for what he wants? Simple. He wants to see Escapia crumble to the ground in a blazing fire. And he wants to see each and everyone one of the Leaders fall with it."
Now...
"Don't you think this expedition seems rather odd?" Tanis asked LS13.
"What do you mean?" LS responded as their ship sailed through the mildly rough oceans of Craftmine.
"Well, think about it. Escapia is facing it's biggest Griefer problem since... well... since as long as I can remember. Hell, it seems like all of Craftmine is... and now... Well, we're sailing to an island off the cost of Craftmine. It seems strange that we're claiming land when we're struggling to defend what we already have."
"Yeah, I suppose... But with the resources of Tekland, we can do so much more. We can make better tools, better facilities. Besides... more land is always nice."
"I guess... I just think Craftmine is in trouble, and nobody seems to care."
"What do you mean? Of course people care! We've been locked in rooms with the other Leaders for days trying to come up with solutions."
"No, I mean the rest of Craftmine," Tanis explained. "They should be banding together with huge weapons to fight these guys. We don't want to forget what happened the other times..."
"Other times?" LS13 asked. "Wait... you seriously think this could lead to a Third Great Troll War?"
"Of course! There is significant proof that a number of Griefers are linked to Trolls."
"You're kidding yourself, Tanis. The Trolls were wiped out."
"Not completely, buddy. Plenty escaped during the final battle. You know that. We've encountered them ourselves."
"Not enough, to do any damage, Tanis. Not enough."
Tanis sighed. "Whatever. You mind keeping an eye on the oceans? I'm gonna get some sleep before I puke again."
Random held a determined look as he strode through the civilian CUT offices.
As soon as he saw him, Spy sighed. "Yes, Random?"
Random pushed the door open with much more force than required. "I have been trying to speak with you for ages."
"My secretary tells me you called twenty minutes ago for an appointment. No other times."
"Hey, if you wanna hear what I have to say, you better stop talking!" Random stated.
"I don't particularly want to hear anything you have to say, but I'll play along."
Random glared at him in silence for a moment. "I've got a theory."
"Great."
"It's about CUT."
"Again... great."
"They're covering something up."
Spy put on his best 'I'm shocked' face. "Wait... Escapia's Secret Service... Is covering something up? What a twist!"
"This is serious, Spy!"
"Look, I work for CUT, so I can't tell you much. But I'll tell you this - Yes, CUT is covering stuff up. Anything else?"
"You remember that Derek guy?"
Spy sighed, pushing his face into his palms. "Yes?" His voice responded in a muffled tone.
"It's about him."
"Really?" Spy asked, trying to sound surprised.
"You ready?"
"Shoot."
"You sure? Shut your blinds and lock the door first."
"Yeah. I'm not gonna do that."
"If people hear this, hell will break loose."
"Willing to risk it, Random."
Random took a deep breath. "Derek is the illegitimate child of King SneakyPie."
"Get out of my office," Spy said calmly.
"Listen for a seco-"
"No."
"Don't you ever wonde-"
"NO."
"How did he get a job at CUT if he's so stupid then?"
"How did you get in my office?"
"Clearly he gets extra perks because of his bloodline!"
"Out."
"And get this! Sneaky gave control of the throne to Wokka and Lord Mountbatten... but should they die before he, he gets control again."
"I... I'm lost."
"That means that either way, the throne is still in Sneaky's bloodline... Which sets Derek up as the next King of Escapia."
"Oh, give me a break!"
"Yes, Spy?" Give asked, poking his head in the office.
Random turned to him and then glared back at Spy. "This is why I wanted to shut the door."
"Not you, Give."
"OK Sir," Give responded, turning to leave.
"No, Give, get in here," Random demanded. "I know you heard what I was saying."
Spy sighed again.
"Now you're probably asking yourself-"
"Why did I let Random in my office?"
"No... 'How can Derek become king if he's illegitimate?'"
"Wait, Derek's King?" Give asked.
"No, he will be though."
"No, he wont," Spy cut in.
"Louis Mountbatten knows the truth."
"There is no truth," Spy said again. "Go away."
"Of course he knows the truth! If Derek knew he was Sneaky's son-"
"Wait, what?" Give asked, shocked.
"Quiet, Give," Random demanded. "If Derek knew, he would try to kill Louis and Wokka to take the throne."
"Out of my office. Both of you. Now."
"That's why Louis sent him on one of the boats six months ago. He was hoping he'd die."
"I have to interview someone for a job any second now. Get out," Spy demanded.
"Louis was trying to steal the VCLB, remember? He's evil, man! He sent those people to tie everyone up!"
At that moment, Invunarble stepped into the room and slammed his briefcase down on Spy's desk.
"Inv, what the hell are you doing here?" Random asked.
"Door was open... I have an interview now."
"Give, why didn't you shut the door?" Random yelled.
"You never asked..."
"EVERYONE OUT OF MY OFFICE!" Spy yelled.
"Sheesh... I knew the interview would be short, but that was just unfair. I didn't even have time to do my Blackadder impression," Inv complained. "Well... back to job searching for me."
"No, Inv, get in here," Spy said. "But you two, out!"
Give dropped his head and stepped out of the office.
"Wait a minute," Random began. "Inv gets to stay in but not me? I smell a conspira-"
"OUT!"
Random quickly and quietly left the room.
"Alright," Spy turned back to Inv. "Let's start the interview. No impressions."
"Damn it."
"Everything's fine," Ghost explained to the messenger. "I did some recon the other night. The plan's still ready to go ahead as... well, planned."
"Alright, I'll let the boss know," the messenger responded.
"Alright, I want that big chunk of dirt gone. Make sure those docks are looking stable," Stalk ordered, pointing for a group of workers. "You guys can take a break after that."
"Seahaven seems to be booming, Stalke," a voice suggested behind him. "I hear it's the second biggest town in Escapia's part of Tekland."
Stalke turned to see Tehbeard standing behind him. "Oh yeah? And I suppose Beard-Tec would have the biggest?"
"You suppose right. But not big enough. I want to make you an offer, Stalke," Beard began. "I'm willing to offer you a fair amount of CUT Coins for this town of yours."
"Not for sale," Stalke replied, turning away to check on a group of workers.
"Maybe you'll reconsider. Here's my offer. No more, no less. Let me know if you change your mind." Beard handed Stalke a note with a large number on it. "I best be off. Remember the offer. A place like this could sure come in handy."
With that, Beard was gone.
Spy sighed. "Alright, now that we've gotten through the boring part of the interview, let's go to the part that makes me lose a bit of faith in humanity every time I have to listen to the answers."
Inv smiled and stared straight ahead.
"What can you individually bring to CUT?"
"Well... I have a town in Tekland. Invun Industries. Aaand... I'm... committed to CUT's dominance of Craftmine."
"Whatever, you got the job."
"YES! I knew I'd get it!" Inv screamed. "Sti owes me 10 Cut Coins! Hah!"
Proz sat silently in the prison, listening as prisoners screamed taunts through the walls to each other.
He sighed, wishing he had a ball so he could bounce it against the wall in a cliché manner.
He was suddenly aware of a drop in noise, and immediately, the lights went out. The prisoners waited in silence for a moment, unsure of what was going on. That all changed when the cell doors flew open.
A riot began, and Proz knew immediately what was happening. He rushed outside, where 697 was waiting for him.
"I told you you'd know when it was happening," he said with a grin. "Follow me. Don't lose me."
As the prisoners slammed into the bewildered guards of the prison, the two ran as fast as they ever had before. Finally, they reached a blank, cracked wall. "C'mon... Don't fail me," 697 said to himself with as he took a step backwards. "If this doesn't work properly, I'm gonna be in a lot of pain," he told Proz. "Don't leave me here."
With that, he ran as fast he could towards the wall and turned at the last minute to hit it with his right shoulder. Part of the wall flew backwards, creating a hole in the wall.
"How did you do that?" Proz asked, amazed.
697 pointed to it, showing him that part of the wall had been hollowed out. "It helps to know guys high up."
He reached in the hole of the wall and found a key. "Alright, let's go."
Suddenly, the lights turned back on, illuminating the entire prison. "Crap," 697 uttered. "I was worried this might happen. We've run out of time."
"What? No! You said we'd get out of here!"
"Trust me, I have a backup plan. Go back to your cell, and wait for me."
Cautiously, Proz did as he was told.
697 returned to his cell quietly, still holding the key. He reached down the sink drain in his cell and placed the key carefully, before returning to his bed.
Finally, the rioting stopped and guards returned, bruised, to keep an eye on the prisoners as their doors were locked individually.
"Soon..." 697 breathed.

he could do that, or he could do the opposite, as you mysteriously donate half of your well-earned CUT-coins to both Tekscape, and Beard-Tek.

"And your office is over there, by the... other office. Any other questions?" Haxx asked, as Invun made his way to the cubicle proudly.
"Uh... nope... Oh wait. Yes. Who's my partner?"
"I'm sorry?"
"For like, kicking doors down and stuff..."
"This is a desk job, Inv."
"A desk job? No way! I wanna shoot bad guys!"
Haxx sighed and turned away, catching Spy's eye. Spy called him over quietly. "I'll be back in a sec," Haxx said to Inv, before making his way over.
"Haxx, give him the job."
"What job?"
"Give him a job where he... 'shoots bad guys'."
"But-"
"We need all the fire-power we can get. To be quite frank, I trust Inv over Derek, and we let him go on the field."
"But then he needs a partner..."
"Eh... we'll sort something out."
Haxx sighed and turned back to Inv. "Alright, there was a... misunderstanding. You get a job with a partner on the field."
"Great, so who is it?"
"Well that's the hard bit. We... don't have anyone else."
"Brilliant. I'll go find someone then," Inv said with a grin, walking off before Haxx could respond.
"Can you believe them?" Stalke asked, stepping onto the docks.
"Believe who?" Welwyn asked, standing beside him.
"Beard-Tec. They want to buy Seahaven."
"You're not gonna sell it are you?" someone asked.
"Of course not," Stalke replied, throwing the offer into the ocean. "They will never own Seahaven."
"Wait," Welwyn began. "Maybe..."
"What? You want me to take the offer?"
"No, I just think... Never mind." Welwyn turned away quietly. "I'll be back in a minute."
"Land ho!" Tanis cried.
"I... I know," LS responded. "I can see it too. It's like... twenty metres away."
"Yeah, but it's fun to yell."
The boat came to a halt at the Seahaven docks with an awkward bump.
Stalke made his way to the new arrivals. "Welcome to Seahaven. Louis informed me you'd be staying for tonight and then moving out to scout the rest of the land when your team arrives tomorrow. If you follow me, I'll show you to your rooms."
"Comet was male though."
"OR WAS HE?" Random yelled.
"Yes. Yes he was. You just called him 'he'," Inv explained.
"Look, hypothetically, if he WERE female..."
"No, Random. Sneaky did not father an illegitimate child with Comet."
"Maybe that's why he was banished...So nobody would find out the truth! You never know."
"No. You do know. He was banished for jumping on the VLCB."
"What? That's not true. It's just a rumour," Random persisted.
"No," Inv grabbed a book from his desk. "'Comet, We Hardly Knew Ye', Act III.' And I quote 'im not sposed 2 touch the bantrap... so ill jump on it insted. *BANHAMMER*'. Happy now?"
"How did you manage to quote the spelling?"
"I... Don't know. That's not the point."
"Why do you have a copy of 'Comet, We Hardly Knew Ye' on your desk anyway?"
"It's part of CUT's introductions to the common threat of Escapia," Inv explained. "Now get out of my office, I have some serious decisions to make that could affect all of Escapia. I'm an agent now!"
"What sort of decisions?" Random asked.
"Who my partner should be..."
Random subtly stepped over to Inv's desk. "Yeah... that's a tough one. Hey, did I tell you I've been having trouble find work? It'd be awesome if someone just offered me a job."
"Yeah... that would be nice," Inv agreed, half ignoring him.
Proz looked around cautiously. Everyone was sleeping, and only two guards were on patrol.
"Alright, ready."
697 quietly reached into the sink and grabbed the key before unlocking his cell door. The guard nearest to him turned and began to open his mouth, before 697 knocked him out. He scurried over to Proz and unlocked his door.
"Follow me. Stay close."
They reached another door and quickly unlocked it.
"What now?" Proz asked. "The locks are different past here.
"I know," 697 said casually. "We don't need them though."
With that, he kicked the wall, causing it to crumble like last time. "I've had half this building hollowed out for this. I plan well, Proz."
Tanis sighed with relief as he dropped his bags in his room and stepped back outside. Light rain dropped down on him as he made his way through the town, looking for nothing in particular.
But it's often when one is not looking that they find something. There in an alley, stood Welwyn, talking to a man in the shadows. Tanis strained his eyes to see the other man, but found he wore robes with a hood.
"He doesn't want to sell," Welwyn said. "I'm sorry."
"What do you mean? Beard offered him far more than he could ever hope to earn in his lifetime!" the main responded in a whisper. There was something familiar about his voice.
"I dunno. I think it's because he thinks it'll go to Beard-Tec. What if we told him the truth?"
"Are you kidding me? He can't know the truth. Nobody can. Keep trying to persuade him. We need this town."
Tanis gasped and turned away. Welwyn wanted to sell the town...
Ghost stepped into the dark room.
"Did you speak to the messenger?"
"The boss isn't here right now," a voice replied. "It's me."
Ghost lit a torch and found the messenger sitting, hauntingly. "What are you doing here?"
"The boss is on a business trip. He's out of Escapia. He said to send his regards," the messenger explained.
"Well did you tell him?"
"Yes, he's pleased. He expects the plan will go well."
"As do I. By tomorrow, Step One should be complete. Are you ready for Step Two?"
The messenger nodded.
"Good. Get some sleep. We'll send you out tomorrow morning."

Re: The Prophecy of Escapecraft
I love it!
Also... erm... um... so can't be Mod or higher? damn, that knocks ghosty off the list...
Hmmm...
I will have to ponder about this more in depth.
EDIT: Do I get an office up high? I want to spartan-kick some employee out the window of my office "by accident"![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

If random were hired, I'd put him on the top floor so Lord could toss him off, along with the man who hired him.
