Project Eternity
As an unabashed Obsidian fanboy, I feel compelled, since no one else seems to have yet posted about it, to post about their Kickstarter project, Eternity. I backed it the moment I heard about it and feel that I should bring it to everyone's attention.
HOT DIGGITY GO LOOK AT IT NOW
They already reached their main goal and are working on stretch goals now. Just so you know what they've done in the past, the main members of this company were behind games like Planescape: Torment, Fallout: New Vegas (plus the originals), KotOR II and others.

Re: Project Eternity
Obsidian has never ceased to amaze me with their games before, fallout in particular, so I might have to look into this.
Re: Project Eternity
I heard from someone named Louis Mountbatten that you didn't like isometric games, Lord.

Re: Project Eternity
It depends on the combat system. I loved Planescape: Torment. I hated Fallout 1 and 2.
One had a combat system that didn't impede my enjoyment of the story. The others didn't.

Oho, double negative, what a plot twister.
EDIT: So I finally arsed myself to see what that kickstarter was all about. In all, it seems much like Skyrim with a few tweaks to it, but I may be wrong and it would turn out into something different. I have to say, the stretch goals and payment methods seem somewhat similar to Planetary Annihilation's stretch goals and rewards.

Yea, Fallout 1&2 didn't really appeal to me. What did you think of 3 and NV? I loved both of them, NV a bit more than 3 due to the enormous amount of quests though.Lord_Mountbatten wrote: I hated Fallout 1 and 2.

Re: Project Eternity
New Vegas is a personal favourite of mine. As I said, I think Obsidian's games are fantastic especially in terms of story (I tend to wait for the bugs to get fixed first, but without having shit publishers breathing down their necks I'd like to see how Obsidian does this time around). I also greatly enjoyed Fallout 3 but not as much.

It will have magic, therefore I will like it.

Whuut, what made you think it seem like Skyrim? Just because it was magic?Invunarble wrote:EDIT: So I finally arsed myself to see what that kickstarter was all about. Then again, I will probably fail at impartiality on this.

I like where this is going, with Wasteland 2 in the works as well my party based massacares can begin anew.DuplicateValue wrote:First screenshot was released.

Oh, I'm not saying it isn't pretty - the perspective is just a bit disorientating for some reason.Lord_Mountbatten wrote:Looks pretty to me.

That, the scenery, the backstory, the gameplay era, all of those factors combined.Hytro wrote:Whuut, what made you think it seem like Skyrim? It'll probably end up a fair bit different in the end, though.

Re: Project Eternity
You have described practically half the fantasy video game genre, but it would look similar as the team making this has most of the top ten when it comes to party based isometric rpgs.Invunarble wrote:That, the scenery, the backstory, the gameplay era, all of those factors combined.Hytro wrote:Whuut, what made you think it seem like Skyrim?
