The leetspeak ruins this, because it makes it too blatantly sarcastic. You should just have intentionally poor spelling, as well as lots of question and exclamation marks.

I concur. This speak in a substition-letter format is quite irritating, and in such, it removes from this discussion the sarcasm that was lightly sprinkled on.

Aside from the fact that it was never ever as cool as people would like to think back in the 80s when it really started; the 'neo-leetspeakers' who now use it just come across as pathetic.

Actually, it appears that the X's go lowercase on the outside, upper case on the inside.
The rest is just every second letter is capitalized, starting with the first of the name and ending with the last of the name.

Not random.
