Yes the new launcher makes it easy to downgrade/upgrade and keeping multiple versions with diff mods or just diff versions is easy now. just search mincraft launcher on youtube and you will get tons of tutorials.
OT:
I like the new Ice biome alot. If I recal they wanted to make biome spacific structures too but it looks like we will have to wait till 1.8. From what I understand the guy that was missing in action during the development of 1.7 (forgot his name) was the one responsible for the biomes. OH and stained glass FINALY! Though I wish it was closer to the first snapshot with them as I dont prefer the pastel coloring. but I still have it so im happy. plus im sure a texture pack can come to my rescue

also like what I have heard about the background coding being done to improve multiplayer. somehow I have a feeling it will break it first though.

well at least it will be more colorful and less crap. AND as a bonus we get to look at them in their stained glass cubes and make them feel really uncomfortable.
