Dodge This

Post by The_Fuzz22 » 18 May 2011, 23:24

You will all have to forgive me as I take a moment to shamelessly plug my new band: Dodge This.
We got together in October and have been steadily practising, getting a decent setlist of covers lined up and recently breaking into the live music scene in Southampton, UK.

There's currently a few videos up of our various performances, with many more on the brink of release (we've been lucky enough to do a lot of gigs involving film crews) and we are in the process of writing enough material to justify a trip to the studio.

I'm no stranger to the music scene having gigged alone for several years and while I don't usually go out of my way to promote this stuff beyond popping it in my signature on any given forum, I'm actually happy to say I'm proud enough of my little group to tell everyone about them.
The following is a documentary made by some film students at my university on our Alternative and Indie Music society's monthly event: Frequency, held with the intention of presenting and promoting local bands. The students followed our progress leading up to and through the event:

Yes you all get to hear my poncey accent. I'm the guy on the right (who's name they spelt wrong).
We've got a Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dodge-Th ... 596?ref=ts
And we'll probably get round to setting up a MySpace too or whatever.

Anyway, sorry for clogging up the forums with this. I realise a lot of fora have too much of this self-promoting rubbish going on and I promise it's the last time it'll happen.
We got back from a gig tonight that went extremely well and I'm in high spirits! Hope you enjoy.

Maybe we ought to change this thread into a "Brag about your band here" thing?
