'Bout how long do you think it'll be until we have a list of what's needed for construction?

im sorry guys but i cant make the map... :( it turns out im a lot better at building by eye than planning in any case so as we already have the maps and images i found i say we build it by eye.

unless someone else wants a go at designing the map.

Can't you just take a screenshot of the area you want to build it in, and then make circles to show where things go?

EDIT: Fixed the word screenshot. My finger was too far to the left when I tried to type 'o'.

Ok, so all that's left is the location. I'd say somewhere in the South West. I noticed a lot of free land around there.

Send me a god damn PM every now and then when you want to reach me, don't complain on the timezones, because you seriously only live only an hour behind my clock. I'm not on Minecraft a lot, but I check my messages every day and I try to keep up with the forums as often as I can.

As for choosing an area, I don't see how I can do that with Vallorn not even deciding on the dimensions of Ponyville itself (From what I've gathered, he hasn't even decided if we're going to include Canterlot or Sweet Apple Acres too). I don't know the size of the area we're going to build on.

This area did however strike me as sufficiently vacant.

We are gonna have to cut some things out, and change proportions a bit. If we were to do everything, including every tree, we would need at least 1000x1000 blocks. And that's just me eying it.

So probably put ponyville on the eastern part of that map, with a large area around it. Then put sweet apple acres directly east of that, with Fluttershy's place a bit to the north. Then put Everfree east, with the Moon castle ruins on the snowy area directly NW of the line, and Zecora's house south of that.

I'll draw a map of relative locations later, if you want.

That is correct, upon closer inspection, the whole area seems to be a mountain biome, not exactly the best place to build a city on :?

If you have any suggestions, please, be my guest =)

We should just make ponyville for the time being and if we're somehow up for any other important landmarks of Equestria after we're done with Ponyville, we'll make those too.

Let's just put those on ice for the time being and focus on the task at hand.

okay lets cut the Forrest. Zecora's place, The Ruins and the DD Caves. that should halve the area as the forest would be bigger than the town itself. sound good?

http://imageshack.us/m/710/5514/ponyville.png

*The picture is too big for the Img /Img thing. It also won't upload, so I just had to do it like this*

So I think this looks good.

Some things I forgot to add to picture:
We can put the mountain with the Dragons Den North of Sweet Apple Acres, South of Everfree.
Broggy Bottom Bog could go in the SE corner of Everfree, North of Fluttershy's cottage
We could put the Ursa cave at the base of the Dragon Den.
The Poison Joke flower feild on the path to Zecora's hosue

That's about it. What do you think?

EDIT: And yeah, it's a Mountainous region. But oh well, I'm sure we'll have enough people to flatten the area in no time.

I like it, but it's gonna be hard to clear the area out and I think we should just focus on Ponyville, Sweet Apple Acres and Fluttershy's Cottage for the moment. Cloudsdale is more or less its own giant project and it's not going to be easy reserving such an area like the Everfree forest.

I also think the moon castle ruins needs to be a part of the everfree forrest rather then being it's own structure outside the the forest.

Let's get this out of the way; Are there any structures already in that area?

I noticed 2 on the map. One on the south, by the red line. That shouldn't be a problem, as we could build around it.

But then there is one on the east side of the Fluttershy box. I'll go check out who it belongs to, see if they are active, and if they are, see if we could convince them to move.

As for clearing the area, We have a workforce of at least 4 people (Pin, Val, Me, 697), not to mention any other Brony who probably will help. It's not like we'll have to clear it down to bedrock, only to about sea level, so it should be fine.

And i meant for Everfree to extend northward, past where I put Moon Castle ruins. But yeah, I think it'd be fine to put focus on Ponyville first, we could make the Everfree area into a giant tree farm for now.
