There's a time and a place for everything. To me it's all about discerning malicious intent. Sure, there are some jokes I may go "woah!" at, but if I can tell it's done in jest I won't think negatively about the person for it. Hatred based on race is the province of fools and the ignorant - it is a person's mindset, not looks, that you should worry about. Getting all uppity about race is counter-productive.

why would i take offence to that I do come from a jewish background, but im not big on religion or a believer in god, yet i still like to title myself as jewish... (it also explains why i have a big nose XD)
As i said, i only take offence to implied racism, the only form of racism that really exists (hard to clarify what i mean by that but i hope you get it).

More evidence this is incorrect is that hitler passed a law making all Jewish people in Germany not actually German. Although a quick google search says there is a rumor hitlers grandpa may have been jewish after his grandma worked in a jewish house hold as a maid and was seduced.

Also wouldnt taking offence when there wasnt meant to be any racism, racist? after all it would be you that implied a remark was racist therefore you would be responsible for making it and wanting it to be offensive? do you agree?
People like that annoy me, those people are normally extremists or Fox News people though...

Older words like 'Negro' i dont actually find racist. decades ago it was a term to describe a black man. then along the lines someone labeled it as racist.

I'm not sure, but I think it was Goebbels who came up with the idea of the Final Solution. Either him or Himmler, I still would consider those two far worse than Hitler himself.

Too many people in the end contributed to its inception. From the higher-ups, Hitler, Goebbels, Himmler and Heydrich, as well as the Gauleiters.

According to Jewish orthodoxy, no, you are either fully Jewish (your mother was Jewish or you converted, but that you can still come across issues with Orthodox Jews if it wasn't matrilineal) or you aren't Jewish at all. The fact that the patrilineal/matrilineal thing exists may be one reason Judaism can be claimed to be a race. If you listen to the Reformist movement though, then yes, if the link is patrilineal, or if you just want to be Jewish, they'll accept you.

However, I have come across a definition that says Judaism is an ethno-religious group. You should really err closer to the fact that Judaism is a religion more than it is a race, but it tends to be a pretty close and internalised community, which may have something to do with it.

It's been a while, but when I read Ian Kershaw's biography of Hitler, it was said that it was during Hitler's time in Munich where his hatred of the Jews truly took form, during his down-and-out days. Much of the detail on him at this point is sketchy though, and no main factor has been identified in why he hated them so much. Anti-Semitic sentiment was acceptable at that period in time - it wasn't just him, and it was certainly an excuse for him to use as to why he was basically a tramp on the streets (his laziness likely contributed more to that).

Concentration* camps. Never heard of them being there to systematically massacre people. They were just really badly administrated.
