Terraria market

Post by Wildwill002 » 29 May 2011, 09:24

I may be willing to sell an enchanted boomerang on terraria to some one for the right price.

Also i want to buy some armor (separately from the boomerang selling)

The problem with terraria is that once you have the top tier equipment it becomes laughably easy to track down anything you might be missing, especially went you can do solo dungeon raids without dying. As such you market for selling a mid range item like the bomerang is pretty limited. Most vets will already have it, and most newbies won't be able to afford it.

I have some shadow armour you can have if you like, or I can get you some necro armour from the dungeon.

I guess you can't make the same mistake I made because of the patch where a nightmare pick is required to mine Hellstone, but I went straight to Hell in Gold armor and Jesus Christ it was so terrible farming Hellstone. It really shouldn't be difficult to kill the corruption bosses to make demonite armor. I would recommend making a phaseblade out of meteorite, then going down to Hell and farming the skeleton worms for a Sunfury. The better weapons really trivialize the rest of the game.

Terraria has become horribly monotonous. As mentioned above, once you have everything, I don't see the point of the game since building things is kinda... lame.

You have to mine iron to make an anvil, then you can make armor and tools out of iron, silver, and gold. You have to make a separate room consisting of a table, chair, door, and torch for each additional NPC, there are six NPCs total. Skeletons have a chance to drop a hook, then you can use iron to make chains and craft a hookshot.

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW:
Spoiler! :
Once you get gold gear(or meteorite gear if you're lucky enough to have a meteor fall), you go to the corruption and smash shadow orbs for rare items and boss fights. To get to the shadow orbs at first, you need dynamite to break through the ebonstone, once you craft a nightmare pick you'll be able to dig through the ebonstone. You use demonite ore and shadow scales that drop from the bosses to make a nightmare pick and demonite armor. Smashing shadow orbs also causes meteors to fall, so you should harvest those. Then you go down to Hell and farm Hellstone to make magma gear. For an easier time farming Hellstone, bring a bed with you and build a house right above Hell where imps don't spawn and set your save point there so you can just jump down again when you die over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. To make items with Hellstone, you also need obsidian which is made by pouring water and lava into each other. After you have a full set of magma gear, you go to the dungeon and talk to the old man at night to fight Skeletron, then you raid the dungeon for rare items and you use items that drop from mobs in the dungeon to make more armor. That's where I quit the game cause there isn't really much left. You could seek out an underground jungle to craft the three way hookshot, or you can try to find a floating treasure island in the sky just for the Hell of it.
Also, one last tip, the size of your world matters A LOT. Small worlds are tiny and large worlds are HUGE. We're talking a difference of beating the game on small versus barely hitting valuable ore on large in the same amount of time.

yes well im still very much a noob at this game ... i've only got a merchant and copper items. No idea how to make other stuff
Short guide:
Spoiler! :
-Go mining (when the background turns grey that's where you'll find the best stuff), get some iron, silver, and gold ores. Look out for treasure chests and heart crystals. Kill skeletons for a chance to make a grappling hook.
- Find the corruption when you have gold/silver gear and use one of the alters to summon a boss using lenses. They drop deamonite ore which is an upgrade to gold.
-Once you have a demonite pick (or purification powder from a dryad) head back to the corruption and break shadow orbs. This should net you some decent items, summon another boss, and cause a meteorite to land somewhere in the world.
-Find the meteorite and mine some of it's ore. Craft better weapons and armour.
-If you can find it hit the underground jungle. Collect the red flowers to craft and kill the enemies for possible rare drops.
-If you can't find the jungle head straight down to the hellworld. Mine as much hellstone and obsidian as you can, and grab one of the hellforges from the houses down there. Hellstone bars can be used to make some of the best weapons in the game, and can upgrade weapons like the boomerang to be more powerful.
-You should now be more than ready to take on your world's dungeon. It should be located at the far end of your map (one end should have the dungeon, the other should be an endless ocean). Guarding it will be an old man, speak to him at night and the boss will appear.
-Once the boss is down you can raid the dungeon for rare items.
-Consult wiki for any items you might be missing and either track them down or trade for them online.
-Become bored at the lack of endgame content and resort to showing off your gear in front of newbs.
-Quit and go back to Minecraft
-???
-Profit

That's why you make a bed and set your spawn point right above Hell, you should be prepared to die five million times. It makes it a lot easier if you play with a friend, one of you mines while the other fights off imps/bone worms.
