Lottery

I was recently on a server with iCONOMY, and it also had a lottery. You typed /lottery buy, and this cost you $500. The $500 went into a pot, and every 12 hours, someone won the pot! More specifically, someone won ALL the money that went into it!

So I was thinking, what if we had something similiar? Obviously, we don't have iCONOMY, but I don't want it on this server anyway. Such a system detracts greatly from survival. Instead, I was thinking that people could give the lotto coordinator a diamond (or potentially items to the value of a diamond, as determined by the trade calc)? And then the lotto coordinator would pick a random player, and that player would win!!

I could potentially be the coordinator, and I could build the Lotto Centre very easily. To enter, I guess someone would place a chest in the Lotto Centre, and lock it with a password. Then, they'd put a sign next to the chest, and PM me the password. Then, at the end of the day/week or whatever, I'd take everything, set up a new chest, password protect it, and send the Lotto winner the password to the chest!

What do you think of the idea? Do you think people would enter?

we used to have these as far back as version 2. while the Mods wont take part theres nothing to stop players from running them themselves.
