To avoid confusion, nobody has a weapon yet (you'll get a chance soon).
Oh, and we're gonna head off now on the ship. Those that are yet to put in their post, we'll just pretend you're there.

Does this ship have a hanger, for my space-fighter? And also, I'm not aligned with the CoO, so can I still have my weapons?Skunk_Giant wrote:To avoid confusion, nobody has a weapon yet (you'll get a chance soon).

I joined in, is that okay? Oh and I guess that means my laser rifle with an ACOG V23 enhanced vision with thermal attachment and grenade launcher just disappeared.
It needs to be about, 20% cooler.

Yeah, the technology isn't up to laser guns yet. I'll put up a lot about weapons and equipment when we get to a point where you need guns, but a lot of the weapons are similar to today's.
Kaosu. I suppose you can. Just make sure you start your character off somewhere where she'll fit in.

Can we at least have plasma?Skunk_Giant wrote:Yeah, the technology isn't up to laser guns yet. I'll put up a lot about weapons and equipment when we get to a point where you need guns, but a lot of the weapons are similar to today's.

Are you kidding me? Lasers will come out way sooner then plasma weapons!! And I think that lasers would be the right time period but okay.

Are you kidding me? You do know what plasma is, right? It's simply a state of matter, just like gas, liquid, and solid, so please take your pseudo-knowledge of all things physics somewhere else ._.Sir_Luke wrote:Are you kidding me? Woah! no need to get sciencey. It's only a sci-fi and if you do, my head will explodeKaosuHamoni wrote:Are you kidding me? You do know what plasma is, right? Well, like I said, the weapons are quite similar, and the Sky War held humanity back in technology for quite a while.
I'm gonna say OK to the plasma, but not as a normal weapon. Being a bounty hunter, I'm sure your character has a good story to tell about how she got it.

Well, actually, historically weaponry/medical technology etcetera has improved far faster in times of war than in peaceSkunk_Giant wrote:Well, like I said, the weapons are quite similar, and the Sky War held humanity back in technology for quite a while.

So theoretically your explanation might not make sense. Maybe just say laser weapons exist, but are still experimental (they might blow up at any time due to instability in the power source, they overheat etc) and would be waaay too expensive to mass produce.

The main way that tech was held back in this war, however, was because of the destruction. Entire planets fell, resources were completely wasted.
So yes, there was some advancing, but quite a bit tech was held back.
There will be things like that, but yes, they're experimental.
And who knows, maybe you guys will be able to get your hands on them later...

Re: Clear Skies - Discussion Thread
Yea kinda like that but the arrows themselves are also powered by little jet engines as well as the projection of the bow itself. Also, it could have a sort of acid/poison at the tip or somethingTheAquapunk wrote:a LASER longbow ?ojamamask wrote: Ohhh.. Can i get a longbow?

I don't care as long as I get a SPR.

Aqua, is there any particular reason you replace your h's with z's? or is it just to make your posts harder to read?

I think the 'Z's are because of the different gender.
It seems like 'Zer' is the equivelant of 'He' or 'Her'.
Magnet based firearms... yes, but not yet. Don't worry about weapons for now.

Why are we worried about weapons when we don't even know what the plot/sub-plot is gonna be

EXACTLY!
I'm gonna progress the story soon, for now, just interact on the ship.
Edit: Forgot to mention. I'm going to the mountains, where there will likely be absolutely no internet. I'm leaving later today, and will be there until about Friday.

OK, I unfortunately have let time defeat me, and probably wont get anything in today. So, you'll need to wait until Friday for me to progress the story.
However, I encourage you to talk to your fellow squad mates. You can walk around the ship, but it's not very big, it's mainly just the one room.
Please don't write about the actual ship landing yet though, I'll do that when I get back.

Re: Clear Skies - Discussion Thread
Ze/zir(or zer)/zeir/zeirs/zemself are gender-neutral pronouns, commonly used within the non-binary/genderqueer community, top signify either not knowing a person's gender, or that the person being referred to is neither a man nor a woman.
Although some people like they/their, I find it leaves too much abiguity if I'm trying to make it known a character is nonbinary.
There's also spivak (Ey/em/Eir/eirs/emself) and neutrois persons often like 'it' But that tends to be too confusing for non GSMs
My character, Pendrite, is an androgyne, which simply means they consider themselves to be between male and female, but not fully either. They are between the 2 main genders, hence nonbinary.
(As a note, ze is transgender as they aren't physically intersex- ze has a uterus etc, but that doesn't detract from the realness of zir gender)
I refer to the character using gender-neutral pronouns to reflect their preferred and presented gender.
tah-dah!

That's why I used the simplest set on pronouns, for the benefit of the cisgender & Binary people I RP with I was just giving an explaination so people could understand, there's no reason to be so dismissive.ojamamask wrote:That's really confusing, but meh....
