First demo will probably just be a movement and weapons test, with little targets like this:
Image
Implementing an AI will be difficult, to say the least...

Just added a crazy motion blur though! hehe

EDIT: Please excuse the double post... sorry!

Today, I added 3D motion blur, which actually works surprisingly quickly. I won't bore you with how it works, since a picture speaks a 1000 words (apparently):
Image
That effect will be used (to varying degrees) when weapons are fired and when you're stunned by a grenade/explosion. In my research, people say that they want guns to FEEL powerful. Screenshaking and blur and sound will hopeful convey this to the player.

And second this - using the basic drawing features, I've made this quick mockup of what the players will look like:
Image
Simple, but hopefully it looks cool. The weapon models will be better than that, and I'll likely add little bits and pieces to the player character as well. Some basic facial expressions, perhaps.

Wow, I actually really like the player models, for some strange reason it reminds me of Vectorman. Perhaps just color customization would be nice, with a few options to add things to it, like night vision goggles, mustaches, and such. Just to give the character a more "unique" appearance.

Also, make sure you don't overuse motion blur. It would work great when getting struck by an explosion or a stun grenade, but having the screen blur when just turning can be an annoyance for some people.

What program do you use for this?

Hehe, I'm glad you like the character! Character customisation sounds fun, though it may have to be done a bit later on, unfortunately. But it's in the design document!

Aye, motion blur will be relatively rare. When shooting, it'll be toned down. When you get stunned or caught in an explosion, though, I want it to be visible.

Yes, it does. I take it that you have problems with anti-virus?

Minecraft is an .exe. I fail to see what the issue is.

Is it a problem RUNNING the .exe or DOWNLOADING the .exe? Some anti-virus things say no to downloading .exe files?

I drew/scribbled these yesterday and today. Each takes a few minutes (and I dare say this shows). And excuse image quality - used my phone camera.

Also, I'm putting together a website and a demo should be out soon!

I'll make a new topic for HAVOC FPS as well :)

Wow, that site looks really, really good. Very pro- looking.

Also, I just got a new 3d modeling program. If you ever want me to try making something for you, I can try. I'm not too good at it yet, but mechanical stuff will be fairly simple.
