Ah. That uh, relaxed me a bit. Alright. Time to wait.
But if it takes more than a day, I'll not be happy. My school is like, 2 minutes away.

Schools usually have a skeleton crew running around during the hols to make sure that everything is okay.

Can you guys not find your results online then? Odd.
Though I don't think we could do that for the Junior Cert either, which would have been sat at around ye're age. It was much less important though, and was just there to get you used to sitting state exams.

Yeah, if you think a supposedly-boring subject that students are forced to undertake is going to make them any less ignorant when it comes to religion you're very wrong.SneakyPie wrote:I kind of wish they did the same thing here in the States. Most hate at religion is a result of ignorance.
Also, GCSEs aren't all that important. Not unless someone here wants to go to somewhere for robot children like Durham.

Sneaky, they do that kind of stuff in Social Studies/(World) History classes in the US. I don't recall when it started but it was relatively recently.

Now That I think about it, it was probably passed as part of No Child Left Behind. If I remember that had blanket coverage for religions too.SneakyPie wrote:Hmmm, must've been when I was already out of high school.aflycon wrote:Sneaky, they do that kind of stuff in Social Studies/(World) History classes in the US. You're only like 26 though, right? Maybe it's only over here on the West Coast.

I'm 24. And I think that nonsense "No Child Left Behind" started up at my high school the year after I graduated (2005).aflycon wrote:Now That I think about it, it was probably passed as part of No Child Left Behind. I hate R.E, that's all
And also I have to go to sixth form no matter what grades I get. My sister is also hyped about her GCSEs but she doesn't get them until school starts.

Yeah I dodged having religion as an exam subject by a year - though we still had classes in it, they only made it examinable for the year below me.

This test sounds like a "Determines your entire future. Good luck!"
Your 11+ decides if you go to a Grammar School or a Secondary school (Grammar is basically a fancier Secondary school with (generally) better standards of teaching - and it teaches Latin...).
Your SATs...Did something, I didn't have to take them as they were abolished before I could (2009-2010 ish)
Your General Certificate of Secondary Education (previously O Level) is the most basic level of qualifications for life and they decide if you can go to 6th form and do A levels at some schools (mine (Royal Grammar High Wycombe) requires a minimum of straight Bs, one C with min of B in Maths and English.).
Your Advanced Level decides you UCAS points (something complicated) and which Uni you go to.
Spoiler! :

Don't ever talk about 11+, ever. I remember when I did mine, it was so damn long. The verbal reasoning (logic questions) was 90 minutes long and I still didn't have time to finish it. And the questions were so pointless. Maths was..well alright but the english was so effed up. We had to answer questions about some guy who wrote about longitude and latitude.MrJKapowey wrote:...almost.Aenir_bEPU wrote:^Sti_Jo_Lew wrote:Yeah.... we don't have anything even remotely similiar to that in where I live.

And grammar school isn't any different to a normal comprehensive. You still have that odd retard who somehow got into this school, and a fight nearly every day. The only thing that's different is that's there's no girls. Rant over.

I go to Royal Grammar School (High Wycombe - there's like 3 other RGSs out there...) and I guess you're thinking that I go to a secondary school from the way you worded that response.

I was talking generally, and I meant there are no girls at my grammar school (Westcliff High School for Boys). Obviously
