I have cuboided Deephaven (Joe, I'll add you to it), and I have 9/10 blocks towards the move. I will attempt to fill in any sinkholes, but it may be messed up for as long as a few weeks, while I sort out t'up North, etc.

If there are no objections i am going to install a telegraph system in New Bucks between the capital and St Piran, mostly for decoration but it will be able to be used as a distress/messaging/early warning system.
One plan is that plates are installed outside gates or randomly and use to signal mob prescence with a note or redstone torch. another is that there are "call boxes" around town with a similar function to alert nearby players to plights, therefore removing the annoyance of simultanously running away and typing "HELP MEEE!" P.S. I promise they will not be cobble monsters, probably glass and wood.

I'm fine with the telegraph idea, but as I discussed in game, I personally think that it could be improved by being underground rather than on pylons, because firstly an above-ground pylon is too obvious for griefers (and vulnerable to creepers) and also a tunnel is less visually obtrusive.

Yeah, because I don't want loads of weird things running through town just on the off chance that someone being chased by a creeper will not be able to kill it/run away enough AND they know about it AND they think about using it AND someone is online in NB AND they are in a position to help AND thye are observing the pylons.

though it would be quite cool if there was some kind of warning evry time someone opened/walked through teh gate, though that could become annoying.
and joe, you may want to rescue our sphere from my attempts at construction.
EDIT: also, if Circle 9 (which isn't circular) is moving, as i seem to have driven OHN to paying $10 for it, then am I allowed to expand into the are which square 9 occupied, should the need arise?

How as I supposed to understand it? I only knew what starcraft was when I searched it after having the joke explained.


New Bucks peeps, can I build above water beyond my bridge? I feel that this is far enough away from your coast, and i know it's shifting my landclaim, but I feel it's reasonable.

The idea for the telegraph system is that it rang when someone pressed the button. But, using it as a mob early warning system or to log if someone has been somewhere is a good idea rob. Also, i could be used for long range communications although it would be very slow and probs redundant.

Rob to give you the benefit of my experience with settlments:

your first couple of towns always run into faults like lanclaim issues or unruly neighbors ( Fort Itl in the case of Vault 88)

if its getting so bad that you want to move the town it may be an excellent plan to abandon the settlment or sell it to your neighbors and build a new one somewhere.

for example when Vault 88 in Version 3 finaly died i went and built MagmaVale which sorted a majority of the issues i first had with the Vault and has become a rather popular town.

do what you want but i advocate starting again from scratch Rob. you wont have cuboid issues or most other problems and can invite your old residents to have a house in your new town to boot. :)
