Re: What are you reading?
I've read a few books recently.
Firstly, I quite like dystopian novels, so I've read Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, both of which I'd recommend.
I've also read "Electrified Sheep" by Alex Boese- an account of some of the most ridiculous or interesting experiments throughout time. Sounds boring, but it's pretty entertaining.
Edit: Animal Farm as well- I got given a collection of George Orwell's works

I've just finished the CHERUB series and now I'm reading Henderson's Boys. Both are written by Robert Muchamore.

Just finished Six Sacred Stones and Five Greatest Warriors. Was even sexier.Skunk_Giant wrote:Win^^^
I remember finishing that the week it came out, and having to suffer the horrible wait for the next book. I suggest having the next one ready for reading, because the cliffhanger at the end will drive you mad.
I have also read the Scarecrow books (Can't wait for Army Of Thieves), Contest and Temple.
Read those tooStalke wrote:I've just finished the CHERUB series and now I'm reading Henderson's Boys. Both are written by Robert Muchamore.

Now I'm reading The Warlock which is part of The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series. These are awesome because they feature many different mythologies.

Looool Undead, I just started reading The Warlock now as well. Got it with the Henderson's Boys. Me want Enchantress once I finish The Warlock.
Re: What are you reading?
Since i've finished fever crumb which had the largest fan service possible for it to have, i've moved to the online book series, The Salvation War which is basically god saying heaven is full so just die and hell taking over earth, until earth fights back and things get messy.
"They'll tear you apart, bone by bone... ...and build with you a human throne. Their buck- toothed king will sit upon What once was you, but now is gone. This key unlocks the gates of Hell. Steady traveler, use it well." - Grim Fandango - Poem of the Flaming Demon Beavers

Re: What are you reading?
I'm now reading 'Compassionate Bastard' by Peter Mitchell.
It's all about how he got a job with the Department of Immigration and how he dealt with the challenges he faced (in Australia, Immigration is a big challenge. You've got some people saying to send people away, some saying to let them in, it's all a bit hectic).
Anyway, it's written quite well, with some humor as well. Not sure if you'd find it outside of Australia, but if you see it, I recommend it, if that's your sort of book.

Re: What are you reading?
Oh yes, though I imagine that'll take a while.. The author took 7 years to write the first book and felt extreme pressure under the four years that took him to write the second one.wokka1 wrote:Pinn, I read that when it came out, excellent book, can't wait for Day 3
But damn, those are some good books.

Re: What are you reading?
In the past couple weeks I've read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. I'm going to start Xenocide soon, and I'm currently reading Pathfinder. All of these are by Orson Scott Card.
I've also started To Kill a Mockingbird for school
Good on you. Ender's Game has to be one of my favorite books ever.

Re: What are you reading?
I loved Ender's Game, as well as the three books that follow it. But Ender's Game especially I've re-read a lot.
Oh, and the Eragon books, love those and have re-read them many a time, even got my dad reading them, but I'm going to be late in getting the new one, Inheritance, so don't spoil it for me black

Re: What are you reading?
I have been reading Ayn Rand's 1100 page Atlas Shrugged for nearly 5 months now. It is the kind of book where you need to read a few pages, stop to contemplate what you just read, then start up again tomorrow. I have tried to power through it on multiple occasions, but it is just impossible. My dedication is finally paying off, as I am less than 100 pages from the end.
I have also been attempting to finish Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, but attempting to tackle it at the same time as Atlas may have been a major mistake, as they are both quite challenging reads.
After Atlas and Zarathustra have been finished off I am going to continue on my philosophical tangent by rereading F. A. Hayek's The Constitution of Liberty.
