What if the blocks in NPC villages randomly turned to Nether-style blocks like in Hytro's pictures? Turning all the villagers into horrible demons? Then it'd be just like Silent Hill! Which could either be a good or bad thing.

But a heads up, most of the npc's (as they are dumb as bread) might have fallen in the lava pools... or the lava sea :twisted:
