BF3 on PC
BF3 on PC
So, this poll is only for the PC players of BF3, sorry to the console folks, but I don't play on console. Please be honest about this, so if you don't play on PC, please don't vote.
Re: BF3 on PC
what if we vote anyway?

You'll skew the votes badly, so please don't. I'm trying to get a feel for whats needed for the server.

Re: BF3 on PC
Well i want to preorder off of steam instead of preordering the actual disk, but Steam has no news about battlefield 3, so i am kind of waiting for that to come, but im definitely buying the game though
Edit: if they are forcing us to buy it off of origin, then i might do it over there, even though i love steam much better

You need to keep up with the news.xidontcarex wrote:Well i want to preorder off of steam instead of preordering the actual disk, but Steam has no news about battlefield 3, so i am kind of waiting for that to come, but im definitely buying the game though

EA is making all the wrong moves with this game. They think that because BF3 has been so anticipated, they can just throw their weight around like this; well, it's not going to fly for much longer. I honestly won't be surprised if the PC port entirely flops because of EA's

Indeed, I'm starting to think it's staffed entirely by Gibbons and bureaucratic appointees.aflycon wrote:EA is making all the wrong moves with this game. Oh wait, it is.
Re: BF3 on PC
I'm torn. It looks good, and I like the series, but I really don't like Origin.
We'll see.
We'll see.
Re: BF3 on PC
you really don'tuse origin for anything other than launching the game...
Re: BF3 on PC
its even less intrusive than Steam and a damn sight better than Steam was when it first came out

Re: BF3 on PC
I know what you mean wokka, and a lot of people did overreact about Origin, but unless I'm presented with evidence otherwise I'm convinced there is absolutely no legitimate reason for Origin's existence. A lot of people like to have their games organized in one place (such as Steam), and have reacted negatively to other launchers or game ports in the past (Windows Live). Even if it isn't intrusive, I don't see the reason for BF3 to have it.
Either way, I'm still seeing this as EA throwing their weight around because they think they're still big in the gaming industry, when honestly, they're quickly being overtaken by other companies. EA just needs to step up their game (no pun intended), in my opinion.

Re: BF3 on PC
Well, EA has been able to learn from Steam's mistakes, and don't get me wrong, I'd rather just have steam. However, origin is EA's way of not giving Valve anymore money and maintaining control. That's all this is.
Re: BF3 on PC
Hmm, I hadn't looked at it that way. That's a good point.
