I would crop the top part off giving more height to the mobs and make it wider as well for more detail.

I'm trying to make it as close to the original picture as possible (and cant stand doing detail) within the confines of the minecraft world. Its 120 blocks high and i forget how many long but after about 1.5 hours i've managed all the bottom up to the creeper foot lengthways and I've completed the creeper so Im going well

I prefer doing detail as i think that the extra time spent will make a better finished piece of pixel art but everyone is different, hope to see it when it is finished.
