Cakes now in stock at Arley Bakery, thanks to the spontaneous appearence of several farmyard animals in the vicinity. Cakes cost 5 iron or the equivalent of

Matty, you can take either of the two plots which is free at the bottom of the hill.
Cross, I am glad to hear that the bakery is doing a bit better re: stock. I can help with eggs if needs be.

Re: Arley
It's been ages since a post so I thought I'd better create a new post
Lots of stuff's been going down in Arley these days! Firstly, the town now has nether access. By climbing up some dirt steps up a cliff (signposted) you will get to a small temple containing the nether portal. Not much on the other side, but there's a Nether Wart farm there.
Secondly, the train line to Bideford has been completed. Why not visit from Arley? A great day out >_>
On that note, in the other direction, the train will be extended to Riff's unfinished and as of now unnamed town. That will probably be the extent to which I will be responsible for maintenance, but if anyone else wants to take over further down and connect it to their town, just give me a shout and I'll see what can be done.
Lastly, just a thanks to M477h3w1012. He's been a great help recently, getting stuff organised behind the scenes- resource gathering, doing some other things and generally keeping me sane whilst digging a tunnel xD

Re: Arley
Yup
In other news, the Arley Light Railway is complete! Running from Bideford to Riff's place (unnamed and unfinished), the rail is free to use and should be quite useful. Many thanks to RC22 for his generous donation of a stack of iron, without which it would not be finished

Re: Arley
Awesome Matty.
Also, there is now a second wheat allotment next to the town hall, so you can all experience the sweet sweet taste of train pollution. Same rules apply as on the other allotment- replant, don't trample etc.

Re: Arley
Goes down smooth.
Also, donations of iron appreciated, mainly for carts. Y'see, Riff's got people working at his place and they are using the train. Not a problem- it's what it's there for. The problem arises when everyone dies at Riff's place, and so the train is never brought back to Arley, leaving a stockpile at his town. Since I don't want to disrupt flow too much, the simplest way would just be to top up the Arley chests, but obviously I can't fund that indefinitely. Thoughts?

Re: Arley
Simplest way = travel down there on a personal cart, take back all the carts left down there, travel back up...TyreseEngineer wrote:Goes down smooth.

I just took all the carts out and put them evenly between each. Much easier than anticipated.

Re: Arley
Ifg you dont use it already, gravel is alright for roads. Its distinct, easy to acquire and has only 1 crafting use. (Flint)

No! Nonononononononononononononono!
We tried that with New Bucks and it looked ugly. It works for large 'cities', but not for a 'quaint village'.

Lords Landing uses Half StoneBrick's sunk into the earth. it delineates the roads well and prevents them being covered by Snow.MrJKapowey wrote:No! Nonononononononononononononono!

Re: Arley
Gravel, probably not. For Kapowey's reasons
Maybe logs.
Stonebricks are a possibility, will try.

Following 1.2.4, Arley now has an Iron Golem (named David Bowie) patrolling it and Pedro the black and white cat sitting on the roof. Bowie seems to particularly like Matty's house.
