Well, it's to improve survival so no. as it stands right now you sacrfice space and get nothing in return.
and in some cases are expected to work on the town for hours and hours with little or no thanks
i definitely like the idea of portal between towns.
what else can be done?

One reason I joined this server is because, unlike other servers where you had to join a faction/town, you could just go somewhere and do your own thing.
