Im for normal. For all of you complaining about /gs going away, it's survival. And another suggestion, could the mob rate be turned up? I never have to worry when i'm walking around at night and it gets boring.

Motor, survival isn't the issue. That could be solved by simply putting on using /gs where you can't move for 10 seconds or you won't teleport. The issue people are having is it segmenting the community. This is a multiplayer server after all, and there's a lot of land. How often do your SP worlds take 20 minutes of walking to get through?

Yeah I reckon the amount of players will decrease to this change of difficulty

I am for normal mode, it helps survival alot. But on the case of the removal of group spawn i strongly agree with it, it would help towns and cities have an actual feel instead of people just going back and forth from houses. With trade thats another thing, i think you should employ a simple warp sign(small public building like restaraunte hosp, etc) in each registered city to a designated trade center in which you cannot leave but only trade.

Sure it helps out towns, but it completely screws over people like me who don't want to live in a town due to size limitations and such. How bout asking a town for large amounts of land? Some would decline but there are other towns that have a freakin ton of land

Uh... my usual project size is about as big as the average city so.... I don't think too many towns will give me a 200x200 plot.

I don't know if this has been mentioned ( only read a page ). But what if each play got 1 /warp and /home. And artisans got 2warps, nobility 3, royalty 5. Plus all of them get /gs. I personally would love another way to trade cause since Feb. And let's be honest Trading. Has. Sucked. Market values are all over the place. I think there should be away to create businesses Around escape like wal mart and suck

I think it should be normal because at the same time it's not super hard for noobs and also not super easy for us (non noobs).
When I joined this server I found out it was a survival concept but then I found out about tekkit you can build factories etc. Maybe we can have in each town a factory to start up the economy and trade?

No, Tekkit completely changes minecraft and requires that all the players have it installed. Not gonna happen.

Trovo... Tekkit IS buildcraft-Industrialcraft-Redpower as a pluggin-mod-thing. however it actually needs a separate client to run...

I do see your point wokka about survivalism takeing a dip because of the /gs and /spawn commands, but many new players and several seasoned players such as us vets that build on the far reaches of the Escapian maps would suffer by being cut off from most of civalization. I myself have many properties across Borjan, and Fyra and I already find it very taxing to get from property to property WITH the /gs command at my disposal. I personaly think that trade is overbering just being centered in the Central Hub and getting rid of the /gs would help, BUT I find more pros on keeping /gs and /spawn commands than the cons of keeping said commands. I hope you wokka make the choise that would most bennift and help not only the Noobs but the vets and beond, ultamitly it is in your hands O Wise Escapian Overlords (most importantly King Wokka), and I shall follow what ever desision you lay out, for I shall never leave this land. -signed Hycraftian Prince Gannondorf

I would actually like to see a server with no rail system. It's handy yes, but itmeans less people 'visit' towns as they explore

take a look at how Terra evolved for that. everything clustered around Spawn in a giant mess.

FS i think is the last frontier of escapecraft, it is the only world with no rail system, this is good for my city, i have a direct railway to it, but that doesnt madder right now, i really think that we should remove /gs and have the trading center idea that i listed above.

Reading this, I keep thinking about differences between /gs and the hearthstones in WoW. There's a 10 second lag between activating it and actually being transported. There's also a cooldown timer. If /gs had something like a 2-4 hour timer, people wouldn't be quite so quick to use it. And a short activation time would prevent people using it to escape burning in lava or zombies chewing off their face.
This is just brainstorming. I'm not actually advocating any such system. I'm especially intrigued by the faster-than-minecart travel concept, and the focus on cities comes at a fortuitous time for me, as I'm working on my first city.

Having it on a delay would be nice, but I'm completely against having a 2-3 hour cooldown. It does nothing helpful really, since there's already the delay. There's nothing wrong with wanting to go to the Hub more than once an hour...

i love the idea of changing the difficulty but takeing out gs is no a good idea because i like to do a puzzle now and again but the "getting back to my home is a pain" and slightly discurages me but now you are saying i need to walk all the way to gs too my home is 30secs from the closest anything and at least 5 mins from gs i am sure meny people feel the same so removing gs will require everyone to start moving as close as they can to the gs portal
