Your thoughts on Anonymous and over such organizations.
Curious as to what people think about Anonymous and over such organizations. Do you think they are right in what they do and support them? Or do you think they're wrong in what they do and wish for them to be disbanded or even punished?
Spoiler! :

I think calling anonymous an organization gives them too much credit. They're more like a movement. Which is why can appear so erratic and contradictory at times.
On the broadest level I agree with what they stand for; upholding internet freedoms and harassing those to attempt to infringe upon them, with a healthy dosage of general trolling thrown in. However their actions vary to such extremes it's almost impossible to uniformly condone or condemn them. For every good deed performed there's a mean spirited prank to compensate, for every webpage hacked as a bold political gesture there's another meaninglessly brought down just because they could.
They are chaotic neutral incarnate.

Yeah I'd have to say, I fully agree with their protesting of scientology, and their defense of internet freedom. I also agree with their trolling of Opra, getting her to say "over nine thousand penises" on air, is just good old fashioned comedy.
However, when they start attacking stupid kids over stuff that they say, and posting gay porn onto their facebook walls, that's when i get off the train. The group seems to be filled with many talented hackers, and to use those skills to harass harmless, and for the most part, innocent people, it just seems wrong. A lot of times people they harass can't fight back in any way, and they have caused a lot of grief.
