How did you find us? Why have you stayed?

This is a double whammy question, but fairly straightforward. We're interested in knowing how better to improve ourselves and reach out to more players. If you don't mind, we would love to hear your responses to these questions:

First, how did you find us? What or who brought you to the server in the first place? And, perhaps on top of that, did you have any experiences with other servers prior to this one?

Second, once you were here, why have you stayed and stuck around? What is it about this server that has caught your attention and made you want to continue playing on it? Is it the people, the worlds, the staff, etc.?

I found EC through the Cut the Crap vid haxx did. It played at the end of a Zero Punctuation review if I remember right

I stayed because its fun. Nice people. Events are nice. Its just a great server

1st. I originally found the server when TheBlocLord invited me to it. And yes, I had been on many servers before joining Escapecraft.

2nd. There are many things about the server that keep me around time and time again. One of these things are the very friendly and lively community. Another thing was, before this server, I had never found a server that hadn't gotten wiped a month after I joined it. Also, Enigma was very interesting and consumed quite a lot of my time. The server is very nice, but more people need to find it in order to stay and be part of the community we know as Escapecraft.

Hmmm where and when did I find the glorious kingdom of Escapia? I know for sure it's been about two years (real time), now to the hard part, I actually don't remember where I found EC, I think I may have been googling the EC maps and instead of that, the server's status page came up with the ip. Now even though I haven't been on in a while (that's due to my horrible school schedule and homework), I have kept tabs on what goes on and I feel that I am still with you guys. Excuse my rambling and I'll try to answer your second question. I have "stayed" with the community because of all the fun times I've had on this server and the nice people (when I was still super active, most of them were not staff, now most of them are) that had fun times with and some how they put up with my insane nature. I love you guys so much and I hope to see you all soon.

Hrm.. I don't recall when I found out about this place. But according to when I registered, its been over a year. I found out about the server because at the time my girlfriend, her brother and her brother's significant other were all playing on this server. Her siblings left the server because of various issues with the staff and at the time I wasn't too involved yet. She's not around mainly due to lack of time and interest in Minecraft itself. I've stuck around because as I started to get to know the staff and the rest of the community I grew to like it here a lot. I came from originally running my own minecraft server.

Through hearing about Minecraft incessantly on The Escapist and through the usergroup over there, I stayed because the community was good and there weren't any really dumb rules I had to abide by.

I also think I ended up finding this server from the Escapist, indirectly. I had looked on a few websites such as PMC to see what the top servers were there, and the majority of them were shit/poorly managed, so I did not stay on them.

I remember googling something vague after that like "Good minecraft servers", and the discussion page on the escapist came up, and I was redirected here.

Now you all know how you ended up with the horrible burden that I am.

I think I ended up googling "no grief minecraft server" or something similar. Ended up staying because of how amazed I was by ver2's spawn, and the fact that the server wasn't a massive crater where houses used to be. Now I mostly stick around to chat with people, and occasionally fail at building cool stuff.

I honestly don't remember a thing about how I found the server. Why did I stay? At the time, I was addicted to minecraft and played a bunch. The welcoming arms of nice players and a well organized server got me here, and the community kept me here.

Yay telling ma story again

I found EC because I was helping with some building on the escapecraft adventure map that will most likely never be released since it has been abandoned by pretty much everyone including the freaking creator even after all the work... anyways, the guy in charge who made the ec adventure maps that were adapted and stuck in enigma made a video where he visited the server. I said eh what the hell, and popped in.

I stayed cause in all the other servers I went to I got a sense of older members and peoples acting like complete dicks/dictators while here there is very little of that. The community has always been very nice and a great place to escape to when I need it.

I found the server through Tyrese, and have stayed because I know it best - I've only ever played on 2 other servers for any amount of time, and burned out on them long before Escapecraft.

Whale hello all, I'm pretty sure I answer this question in a thread and in game every few months, but why not again..

It was the warm fall of 2010 and I knew soon the winter would set in and I'd have nothing to do, I had been hearing about Minecraft for sometime at this point(I actually heard about it originally when the first rendition of Notch's site featuring it went up, thought it was a dumb idea and scoffed it off). And back in this day I was an avid reader of The Escapist. Some looking about and I find out they have a group there for Minecraft. I join the group and a week later ,or so, get Minecraft. Jump in to Escapecraft, and wow, stuff.

I joined the forums a couple weeks later, and there we be.

I'm still here because I'm in slight hope that Wokka will make me a giant flying space diety, like I am in real life. Also the peeps are cool, and I still haven't accomplished my original goal when I first started playing Minecraft

I found it because for some reason or another i joined the minecraft group on the escapist site, then i realised they had an unofficial minecraft server, with the fact that i had never joined a public multi server before, i decided to try it out.
I stayed mainly because of the people, the USSR and the rest of the community, the reason why I've stayed after 2 years is because this is the best server i know of, for what it is. And each time I've burnt out I've been in the middle of a project so I eventually come back.

1. How i found escapecraft. I just typed "good minecraft server" two years ago into google, and found escapecraft, it was my first SMP server i had ever played on.
2. what got me to stay was the welcoming community and the "power to the player" feeling when i joined, such as working together with random players to build the parts of the world rather than just having the mods build them in a second.

I originally discovered Escapecraft through a friend (back in June 2011, first MC server I EVER played on!!), however I didn't stay for long (my friend soon set up his own server).

I came back last month

mainly because the server I had been playing on had recently reset their map - grr!
And having remember the server IP I thought I'd give you guys a go and see if I could find my old house (still haven't yet, somewhere in Corinth!)
